I purchased a MX400 used and am extremely happy with it.

I wanted to know what parts between the MX and Trex are interchangeable. The upgrade parts seem to be a lot less expensive and more readily available for the t-rex.

initially I am looking at upgrading the tail fins, blades (tail & main), and paddles

The tail blades and fins will fit no problem. The paddles will work, but you will need the trex flybar which is threaded on the ends. The Trex blades will need washers to fit the MX grips, or put on Trex XL grips and a trex feather/spindle shaft so they fit. The Trex canopy fits nicely too. All the CNC tail upgrades work too.
I put entire trex heads on Mine from the swash up. The align head is much better once you start pushing the heli.

Every part exchange you could want to know
http://www.trex tuning.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4934
Copy and paste this link, but remove the space between trex and tuning to make it one word.
Hope this helps!!
