I have a 450 XL CDE which requires the battery to be mounted fairly low causing a low cg. I really notice a huge difference in cyclic response inverted as compared to right side up. My question is: Does the higher battery position (like the SE and SA models) make for more symmetrical/quick roll response? Can you feel the raised CG enough to warrant getting an SA or SE over an XLCDE?

Can't get your blades to track? Scuff 'em.

Not enough to warrant buying a new kit, but you can feel the difference for sure if you fly an SE switching the lipo position from top to bottom..

Higher battery position makes a much more quicker rolls and flips. SA is a great choice, worth the upgrade. Or you can make a convertion. I have my 450XL converted to Direct CCPM and raised the battery position the same like SE, SA. Big difference.
