America does not make a good rc unit, so go where you have too. Argument is , why don't we.???
we dont because it doesnt pay ... if we took workers away to make r/c parts there would be less workers working in a different field ... if the opportunity cost is higher for us to produce r/c parts than china's opportunity cost its not resourceful and even tough it sounds good they we make it ourselves we'd end up loosing ... you have to look at comparative advantages and break it down by amount of work per worker per hour compared with opportunity costs of producing a good ...

getting laid off is a fact of life .. it will happen to you sooner or later now matter how many jobs are available in the country ... you cant have enough jobs for every engineer in the country so that if one of them loses their job they will have another one to go too the next day ... its just not possible ... maybe they will have to get a crappy job for a month to look for another job ...

and as for not having enough disposable income to invest in stocks one year when you get your taxes back you could invest that into a mutual fund .. and invest that way ... and there have been plenty of stocks that started less than $10.00 and are now very expensive ... you just have to do your research ... you may not be able to buy 1000 shares right away but over time it will build up

Well, I'm not sure about you folks that keep whacking on Walmart's head.. Obviously the liberal socialist folks. I don't like that mind set or the "Distribution of Wealth" thinking. Russia failed at this. Walmart has done more good in this country than you give them credit for. It's a capitalistic society (at least until some of these knot head politicians get their way) and that is what keeps cost down, and gives the millions of consumers what they want. Let's just close all the Walmart's and you too can pay 10 bucks for a roll of toilet paper! Also, Unions have driven up cost's as well.. Talking about some folks that want to sit on their keester and draw large salaries and do much of nothing! Unions have been a huge part of the outsourcing problem you are talking about here!

@wakeboarder
I guess if Jim is liberal scum that makes me liberal scum, too.
So Wakeboarder, you run a compnay that gross's $20,000,000 a year?
Your profile says "real estate developer". Which one is it?
I guess you could do both. 1042 posts on runryder is a lot for two years when a guy is running two business's, unrelated to toy helicopters.
You have the high and mighty arrogance of someone who's mommy and daddy have taken care of the larger details in life. Running an already established business, complete with long term customers and building one from scratch are FAR different accomplishments.

Shades of grey..
Jim,
If there is one thing that I have learned, from life, it is that there is RARELY ever a black and white, clear cut, explanation for everything. I am very wary of anyone who is overpoweringly convinced of "their way" or "the only solution".
Snot-nosed and condescending remarks aside. Confidence is a good thing, but this level of "blinders on" commitment, from Wakeboarder, to his ideology is what makes me suspect the BS factor.
I have yet to meet anyone from Utah, or New Mexico for that matter, that I didn't think was at least a little wacky.

When these types get on , makes me think they have to be just pumping the forum for fun. Probably playing with a playstation at the same time they are imparting all this knowledge. Never make a varifiable comment. Just junk mail, so to speak.

Sorry Inverted: Didn't answer your second part of the post. In America today, you are not born into big bucks, it will take 2 incomes to , just to get bye, not progress. I'm fortunate, my wife stays home, answers the phone and routes me on calls. Works great. Could not get along without her. I'm just glad, that my business is well established , with very good customer base.
I can't imagine being in my early twenties, married , 2 kids, and all the payments that come with being young and just getting started in life. I have many customers that can't pay the ac repair bill at one time. Just part of it, I let em slide till next week or next month. Been doing it for over 30 years.
I really don't have a clue , as to whats going to happen in the next 30. At the rate the we are loosing the good paying jobs, I think it's going to be a mess.
