The Orbit 30-12 is a very good motor for the Logo 14 on 10s...

The orbit 25-xx is going to give more torque/power than the 20-xx and the 30-xx more than the 25-xx. The -10/12/14 gives an indication of the KV rating (presume its number of poles or winds). The 25-14 would probably offer ballistic performance on 7s setup, but drain the cells quickly. Hopefully the 20-12 will give me decent headspeed (2000 ish) but without sapping the batteries dry within a few minutes. We'll see....

Found pictures of my old mikado logo 3D.
Looks like I wasn't as good of a builder back then as I am now I can see a few things I would not have done. (As far as all the zipties on the wiring and uneven servo linkages etc)
http://travel.webshots.com/album/271614613qfEZUj

those pics were taken Feb 2005. Almost 2 years ago already..
I gave the remaining parts of that heli to lowflyer a few weeks ago
It was obliterated from a PCM lockout

Received the Kit today and began assembly
IS it normal to have to grind some of the frame away to get the 1y to fit?

I think I'm going to put a carbon frame on this heli sooner than later

That was a quick build
Time to scrounge up the electronics

I should be ok if I pick up a 19t,20t,21t and 22T pinion set right?

I will probably get the gyro boom mount and tail servo boom mount as well before it is RTF.

After that, I think I will upgrade to the ice blue CHP frame set or the CHP complete cnc/carbon frame set.

I'm interested to see how well it performs on 6S. Should be a major improvement over my old 4s4p L103D.

edit:
just ordered pinions, gyro boom mount and aluminum boom clamp hex spacers. The plastic ones have got to go!

20tooth is going to be a bullet Casey, I do not think you will venture 21 to be honest. It is going to be significantly punchier feeling than your 600 rex due to the power weight ratio, I think you will be in for a pleasant surpise. I may have missed somewhere in your threads but did you stretch this one? L14 boom, belt and all that?

Unstretched

Had to use a sanding barrel on my dremel to do a bit of frame work to get the 1Y motor to be a "drop in fit". But now, I can literally "drop it in", without the frame sides touching the motor. Made it look fancy so that the plastic side frame is curved to the motor, but not touching.
Will get pics soon. Camera isn't here right now.

I noticed the carbon frames have a cutout for NEU motors too. This must be the norm. Biggest thing I ever slipped in a logo was a hacker c15 13l

I ordered a 20T and a 21T. Wish I would have ordered 19T and 20T instead now

Not yet, but I'll get it soon. It will be my first upgrade. You saw that smashed logo frame I gave you.. That motor mount went into like 20 pieces

I See the CHP frame comes with aluminum motor mount and upper bearing block. Might just go that way. Almost done paying off my 12Z already, so I have to wait till then

also, I put up some photos of the logo in my gallery that I took during assembly. Lots of "parts bag" shots etc etc..

I even reemed all the ball links, filed and fit the washout radius arms to swing free in the breeze, spent an hour getting the tail linkage and pushrod as free as possible, filed down the inside of the plastic washout base by a hair to make it slide like a hot knife through butter.. you get the idea. It's built well. The rotor head is free and smooth ready for the 9650's. A 9254 will have no trouble at all keeping the tail in line.

I did my best to get it ready to rip! Even used extra long tail pitch lever bearing bolt AND a nut to hold it on, so my tail pitch slider lever will never fall off. In some places, I replaced the bolts with longer ones from my old raptor parts box to get better hold on parts.
Spent forever fiddling with belt tension and tail drive gear mesh.

I went with Shawn's advice and gone with the 20T and the bird flies perfectly with good power. IT IS SO FREAKIN fun to fly the Logo 10! It's got great power to weight ratio.

My next test flight will be a Logo 10 on 10S using 45-07 And, it's got a driven tail Going with 500mm blades.

What do you guys think of this RX installation? Am I asking for a flybar strike here? (in a crash for say..)

Now you see it,

Now you don't!

Any thoughts? Should I lay it flat? I Want to stand it up because I can make the antenna exit the frame to the skids quickest and furthest from anything this way..

Not a L10 but this is the way I did mine, no issues or lockouts etc, using a peice of carb vacuum tubing to isolate the antenna as well.

Here's what I ended up with..

This thing is beautiful
I have some wider black trex 600 skids that would suit it well too. Only about 1" wider, and about 1" taller. Just about right if you ask me..
