new synergy dampers
today i got to try a prototype set of dampers that andy at realraptors supplied, i think they are available now to purchase directly from them.

as most will know the std kit dampers are very limited in life span and could really be harder in first place.

upon getting the dampers the first thing i noticed was they are much harder than the std ones, fitting them is usual stuff so skip to the good bit!

flying wise it now feels much crisper when hovering and is much more settled than previously, i wasted a good 5 seconds doing that and then started giving it some. the difference is very noticable when starting to push the heli a little.

everything i tried felt much better, rolls, flips, funnels, pie dish 4 point metros etc. was much easier to lock into than with the old dampers, i'm actually surprised at the difference it has made. with these dampers and the new balls the heli is now where i think it should have been from start, WELL worth getting them.

thanks for the dampers andy, please feel free to send an aurora for testing

cheers

Are they made by Synergy or after market part? I've heard of some people using the 90 durometer ones from Miniature.

To hover is divine, the alternative is rather PLANE.

these ones are basically minair ones without the minair price, in the uk atleast. andy will have more info soon.

they are made for realraptors and he can ship anywhere.

realraptors doesn't make them, they found a supplier of 90 duro o-rings thats all. any o-ring will work as ong as it has the same i.d., o.d., and thickness.

I have also had a set of the dampers to try out, and I have very similar opinions as raptorheli.
I used them for a couple of gallons and then replaced them again for the old dampers, half a flight later I was keen to get the new harder dampers from realraptors back in the Synergy.
Maneuvers seem to be more pitch positive and snappier, giving a quicker initial response, but also not destroying the Synergy's excellent hover stability
I think I have about four gallons on these new dampers now and after taking them out yesterday for a quick check over, there seems to be no wear or degrading at all.

Excellent upgrade
Ryan.

Ron Lund has hard o-rings for the Fury, which is the same as the Synergy.

I have about 50 of the hard o-rings and I intend to try them, but so far my Synergy has been flying so well I have been reluctant to take it apart.

From memory i think they were ever so slightly harder than the stock min air "2dot" one's but they seem to work wonders (although ive only got about a gallon on mine)..

But with the added bonus that they will also work with the aurora when it comes too

Can you tell us what color they are? Also I believe that Synergy will be selling a new dampner that is being tested. I will post the info when it is going to be released.
