Blade Stop Auto Raptor 50
A friend, I wont mention any names (heloman37) was toying with blade stop autos. On restart the main blade smacked the tail and the result was a homesick lawn dart. Dont try this at home kids.

Damn that is bad. That is why you gotta have your blades on TIGHT so they dont fold up on restart. is it a total loss, he should get a sceadu 50 now.

There will be a day when I'll attempt a blade stop auto too.

That day might become an expensive one.

That sucks
Must be quite an impressive sight to see a heli falling from the sky without its blades turning.

I like the quote about the homesick lawn dart

I hate it when the tail boom just jumps up and stops the blades.

V. funny

Just a thought, I`f you took it out of throttle hold, Would the blades get going again, even if they had folded back, or would they just get snarled up on the boom?

You need to get Chris Riha (I believe he is Xtreme Heli here on RR) here to give you the 411 on his technique. I have seen him do many blade stop autos on an R50. All quite successfull. He has it down pretty good.

it is just what it sounds. The blades stop in mid air, and then gain rpm and your able to auto it down.

Hmmm.
I hate to say this people but hows about you just take off the horizontal fin to practise this manover...
Surly without the horizontal fin there would be nothing to "Grab" and/or hold the blade...

Could save you a lott'a mollour lol
