Just before my son went to college he had been racing hard and heavy for about 3 years. Electric buggy's was just one of them.
I would say to start with you may want to go to http://rcfiles.com/
They are runryder of racing.
Since there are several different types of buggies you may want to see what your LHS carry's as far as brands.
We were running an Associated B4, Novak GTX speed control, Team Orion Revolution 13t double motor, far as battery's, racersedge matched cells. Of course you could go with a lipo set up, works great but it is a bit on the pricey side. On the radio we were running an Airtronics M8 with a 94358 servo for steering and a personal transponder. If you have not raced before I would not run this type of motor, I would run something like a Team Orion 19t double.
In any case, have fun and good luck.Only Fine Helis, Hobbywing
