just fitted helical main gear set to my raptor 50. feels real nice.i have always been told to run my gears dry but i am toying with the idea of applying a little lithium grease i use for servos to the gears to realy sweaten it up.i know this could atract dust etc. grease or no grease that is the question.

Grease with pick up dust and make a nice wearing compound .

Also would make a mess inside your canopy were it slings off the gears.

It doesn't really matter what you do, as you'll be replacing those helical gears with the stock gears within the next 5 tanks or so

The white helicals wear out faster and don't run noticeably quieter.

(PS Bogman, I left CT 12 years ago. Lived in Kenilworth, about 5 minutes walk from the station. What a city!!)

I can't believe lithium grease is going to stay on a pinion spinning at 17,000 rpm's without becoming a small Lithium grease sprinkler till what is there is gone and plastered on the inside of the canopy,,belt,,and just make a mess!

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them
