Vario vs Predator?
In the market for a gasser and am pretty much stuck trying to decide whether I want the Vario Benzin Trainer or the Predator gasser...Any opinions on which heli is the best to go with? I know there are plenty of Vario guys along with Predator guys here who will swear by their heli, but what about the guys who have both or have flown both at least? Is there a real advantage with either heli? Anyone happen to have a pic of a Vario Benzin next to a Predator gasser for a size comparison? I know the vario is a bit bigger (and heavier), but not by much from what I understand...Any input you guys have is greatly appreciated...

Thanks...

Also which heli fits best into the "trainer" category? Not only for myself but for anyone who is doing this as a newbie? I have flown electrics only myself and hate nitro with a passion, so the stability and ease of use/cleanup of the gassers is more in my league. Just want the best ship I can get for myself and others locally who may want to start off in helis...

IMHO.....

Vario Trainer is best for scale applications.

Predator is for other than that.

Vario parts are more expensive and the bearings are not sealed so there is more maintenance.

Vario is a more precise build. It is a German kit and everything is to high standards.

I have had parts availability issues with Vario. (with both past and present importers) There are people that say that Century has a parts issue. I have not experienced this personally.

I have had issues with the predator swash and replaced it with another brand unit.

Now to be fair you might want to compare the acrobat with the p-gas. I do not have an acrobat so I cannot comment on flying one, but the parts statements will be the same.

If you compare avialibility of parts, cost of parts and so on. Dollar for dollar you are better off with a Quick Gas-Her. Very stable flying, performance if you need it, and support that is second to none in my opinion. I have 4 gallons through mine so far and I'm very happy with it.Gas is Great

Someone needs to create a heli model called the "Alien".
Then we could have posts titled "Alien vs. Predator".

Sorry. Couldn't resist it.
