Titan 50. You have to have some parts left for spares.

If you don't know how to auto, get another Raptor.

Parts are cheap and available.

I think what he was trying to say was if your tail gives out hit you hold button and removing the torque from the motor and the tail will stop spinning and you can auto it in.

Simple statements.

Raptor parts are cheap and available.

Either you can or can't auto.

So you can auto, good for you, then what went wrong?

There are a lot of evil things I can say, but I never intended to be mean, and I won't start now.

I personally am coming off two 90 size heli crashes in one week.

Crashing bites, but it is still better than being at work.

Sorry about the crashes and I'm just kidding and learning too.

How could the tail stop spinning in this case unless the head also stopped?

Auto issue
Ok, I appreciate everyone's input who are responding the the actual posting, which smply was what heli to go for. I can auto... And no I can not recover from an inverted 1000 rpm un-intentional and un-controllable piroutte...not many I can think of can perfrom such a task... but I have a feeling Rcer guy will have another great answer for me. I am here because I love the sport and love helping and getting help from others, ther is no need for an invertigation here..I just had a simple question because I respect most of your suggestions. Sorry to hear about your 90's, ...man I wish I could just have 1 heli ..let alone many

if you liked the Raptor, buy a Titan. If you are going to buy the extra stuff and are good with the TT stuff, get the SE.

How bad was the wreck? What's broken to the point of needing a new kit?

All out of witty answers.

I, too, try to help people here.

If you look though your PM's you will find a couple from me answering you about fuses.

Like I said. I am not trying to be mean. The circumstances of your crash are more forgiving than the last two I mentioned.

Both of mine were dumb thumbs.

Now, going through the textbook for things going wrong. If inverted and something goes wrong you have three options:
1. Do nothing and let it die.
2. Inverted auto.
3. Climb and try to flip it over after the auto starts.

Like I said, that is what the textbook says.

When it has happened to me, I tried 2 but 1 happened in the end.

Yes, I have a lot of stuff. That is what happens when you collect the stuff for years and you have an addictive personality. I am single with no kids. I spend a lot of time at work, and a lot of time working on helis.

I used to drink and smoke a lot (addictive personality). Now I try and enjoy helis and occasionally take a break from the world by visiting with people on RR.

Good luck with whatever you choose. This has sucked the fun out of me tonight. Going to bed. Tomorrow will be a better day. I get to ride the scooter and fly helis.

your not reading the statement, only his words...
The statement is this: for an inexpensive machine to use for practicing auto's etc, he suggests another raptor. You did not go into detail on what your flight parameters were at the time the tail let go. That orientation would have been very difficult to recover from.

I doubt the heli is complete scrap. You will look at the total damage and then decide if replacement parts or a re-kit is more prudent or a total change of machine altogether.

Small ships, I like the 50's and also my Hawk Pro with the OS 37. Big ships, my 2 P-gassers. Scale....well, that is another story, what with gasser, glow, and now turbine scale ships in the fleet.

I have a blinged out Raptor, and a stock Raven 50. My peference between them is the Raven. I don't like risking my gassers for general goofing off...and the scale ships are occaisional fliers.

That said, I don't know what to tell you to do. Maybe follow Chris' advise..... and learn to auto

Tongue in cheek, that last line.

James

I really do appreaciate all you guys on RR you all have helped me immensely...Sometimes it is hard foe me to tell if someone is jumping on my back about something, because I might not be as experienced...a lot of people love to throw around their arrogance on here. I apologize rcadd1ct, I did not want to ruin your night...I am just tired and a little irritable..but its no escuse to be rude. We are all here for the same reason. I just want another heli thats all.

No worries.

I know how you feel. I just about gave them all away two weeks back.

In the end, I figured if I gave them away, I would just get more so I could hang out here and BS about flying toys.

Enjoy the simple things, nitro exhaust and a beautiful day.

Night all.

Add it up for a rebuild. It's hard to totally kit an R50.I've done it,but most times it's cheaper to rebuild and if it is really bad you pretty much have a brand new heli.

the best answer i can give is look for something that takes your attention and get it . if you like it you like it. plain and simple dont worry about what everyone else reccomends. most helis on the market today will make you more than happpy with performance. the best thinh to do is look for parts availability, then what you want and go from there.

I had the same choice to make a while back. I got a used R50 from a guy in our club. I knew the machine and it is working out fine for me. I wanted the original kit, but do not now where to find one? Now I got 2-1/2 Raptor 50's. I am rebuilding the crashed one a little at at a time.
