i am not nbrand new to the heli world, however i need some advice on which remote to purchase...
the choices come down too a JR 9303 heli version or the Futaba 9CHP....
i am leaning towards the 9CHP because i am buying a nitro heli off a friend who has this remote and therefore setup would be copy and paste.... at the same time the 9303 has more bells and whistles and i like the layout of it more....
i can't seem to find a layout of the 9CHP menus......

any advice would be great..

P.S. they are going to both be used for helis and planes.... i just have more helis

Both are nice rigs
I have two 9chp's....and a 9zhp wc2, and a 12mz.

Guess I like Futaba. The 9C menu's are pretty easy to navigate thru...I have NOT owned a 9303, but have played with one briefly....and it too is not hard to move around thru. It would come down to which one my local "help" is familiar with...

Go the Futaba.

It's so easy to understand that i doubt they even go thru the menu's!! U won't be disappointed with it, especially as it's a very well priced unit. I love mine.

They both do the same thing well and thats fly your helicopter, they both do more than you will probably ever need.

If you get a chance to hold both of them see which feels better in your hands and hangs better for you from a neck strap because they will both get the job done.

And a vote for the 9303!

I will add that since you have someone there familliar with the Futaba layout you'd be better off going that route.

I do love my 9303 though!

Here's my take on getting help.

If you can figure out one you can figure out the other. What you cant figure out you can find out here within hours. I happen to prefer the Futaba programming, though I did a heli from scratch for someone that brought out a new model with a 9303 last weekend and it wasnt that hard but theres a menu that you need that you have to hold a button and turn on the transmitter to get to, with futaba there's really only a couple of things in that power up menu and you shouldnt have to set them more than once, IMO every menu that you need for a model should be accessable w/o holding a button and turning on the transmitter, they should be there in the model menu.

i had the same impression with my 8103...finally gave in to thinking that it was there as a "safety" measure for us dweabs...learned to live with it...but drags none the less.

This is a radio, a remote is for your TV.

Anyway, My vote is for the Futaba also. I have always had them and the 9CHP I have is easy to navigate. Large display, easy menu, not too heavy. I don't have any qualms about JR because I never used one.

Where's that EASY button?

The beauty of it is, i work at the local hobbyshop and have talked to the two heli pros there and one says go with the 9303, the other says 9chp and thats all opinion not fact....
in other words i can get help with both remote's no matter what i do....
it's just that when i buy my buddys heli it'll be easier to setup... at the same time i need to learn how it's setup and where everything is... so i dunno

Hmm tough call, I'll add my two cents.

For my first heli and first computer radio, I opted for the 9303. Very glad I did. I was able to set it up, only had to post questions about gyro gain, as the entire concept was new to me (HH vs. rate). The menus are easy to find and understand.

Either one is a good choice!
