I got a server running on SATA, but i need to connect a normal IDE hard drive to it.

Would i be right in saying that this will be fine? because i installed my Operating system on my SATA drive first, it should ignore the operating system on the IDE hard drive that i want to connect right?

meh

Just make sure your boot options in the bios boot to the sata drives first, then your fine.
