Well, I have a friend who owns a hobby store. He can get me some decent deals on stuff, but he only goes through Horizon. He can get the Trex 600 now, but only with JR radio gear. I have only used Futaba all this time, and am somewhat clueless about JR stuff. I do know, however, that the spec sheets do not tell the whole story. Would 8311s be good for the cyclic? And how are JR gyros? I set up a 480 for a guy this summer, and frankly, I was unimpressed. I am assuming the more expensive gyros are better, but you know what they say about assuming.

Wow, the ground was closer than I thought.

Quality
I have also been a Futaba guy for years but decided on a JR 7202 with my Heli and am impressed with the quality and ease of use. However, do NOT do a flex order if you want it this year. They literally took over a month to get my order to the shop and they still screwed it up. The problem was the Flex department, they really dropped the ball, repeatedly. Hell, the final shipped product has little stickers that seal the foam halves after everthing's put in. those labels have a line where the person is supposed to sign or stamp. It's blank. Good thing for them, since they screwed up, but oh well, it worked. The hardware itself is nice though.

I don't know anything about the JR gyros, I just use a 401. Same with servos, I'm using DS285's which are obviously not suitable for a larger heli like the 600.

I have JR electronics on my Trex 600 and also using the 8311 for cyclics. They're the best JR servos for heli this size. JR gyros are excellent also. I just happened to got a really good deal on a Futaba gyro so I'm using it instead of the JR. IMHO, JR stuff are just as good as the Futaba.

8311's are the stuff. I'm dropping my set (from my R50) into my 600, but first I am going to do the 8417 gear swap. Changing the middle 2 gears with the 8417 gearset speeds up the 8311's significantly with only a small loss of torque.
