Sorry to bump an old thread, but is the Kinetic the same as the old Falcon 46 (not the SE)? I picked up an old Falcon 46 kit for dirt cheap (for the fun of building it) and would love to have the Kinetic heli as a place to get parts.

yeeup, pretty much the same thing,, the Kinetic is not a SE but it may (may) have some updated plastic parts that the older 46 does not have..

Awesome. I know that the Kinetic has the upgraded 10mm shaft and associated parts - but for the most part it should match up.

For $100 - I couldn't turn down the kit (with motor, radio, gyro, servos). Granted, some of the parts aren't the best, but it was a good buy.

From what I understand, the Kinetic 50 is basically the same thing as the Hawk Pro w/ the 50 engine mount and side frames, 600mm blades instead of the 550mm and a longer boom. All the parts from the Hawk Pro and Kinetic 50 are interchangable, with the exception of the boom because it is longer. Frame sides, tank, servo tray and such are the same. i just ordered the gyro mount and carbon fins for the kinetic 50 even thoug I have a Hawk Pro. The Kinetic 50 parts are a bit cheaper then the Hawk/Raven parts.

There is a BIG difference between the OLD Falcon 46 and the Kinetic 50 or Hawk Pro. Just as there is a BIG difference between the older Hawks and the Hawk Pro or the older Ravens and the current ones. Here are some of the most important differences between the K50/HP & the old Falcon 46:

1 - Full bearing compliment on all bellcranks etc. in the mCCPM control system on the Kinetic and HP.
2 - Much better swashplate on the Kinetic and HP
3 - 4mm flybar system with Flybar control yoke on the K50
4 - Hex start system on K50 & HP with much superior start shaft
5 - 10mm mainshaft system on K50 & HP
6 - 4 more degrees of pitch range available on the K50 & HP
7 - I believe the K50 comes with the CTD driven tail system
8 - I believe the K50 comes with a metal clutch bell
9 - the K50 comes with a much larger fuel tank
10 - the K50 comes with the heavy duty landing gear set
11 - the K50 & HP come with the newer tail pitch control slider (ball instead of pin)
12 - the K50 & HP come with a torque tube drive system instead of the old wire-in-tube system
13 - Updated upper frames that are a lot stronger
14 - more efficient upper cooling shroud area
15 - I believe the F46 used the older bullet style canopy also.

These are just those I can remember, I am sure there are more.
