E-Flight Parts Quality (?)
Hey all,

Just replaced the main shaft & drive gear on a CP with new parts from E-Flight. Upon installation, I found the drive gear (big plastic gear that the motor pinion meshes with) was WAY out of round (or out of concentricity). Almost to the point where the gears would loose mesh at one point on the circle.

Just wondering if y'all have had any pervasive problems with quality control from E-Flight. If they can stick a shaft on a gear as poorly as they did this one there might be problems elsewhere... any feedback?

The last one I bought at LHS, I asked him if it was good, he gave me a funny look and said yes, I took it out of the package and rolled it on the glass counter top, looking along the edge. It isn't perfect, but better than some I'm gotten. Yes, it's the norm on all parts.

I had the exact same problem on a couple E-flite main gears I've bought. If you find one that's centered well, don't trash it if you bend the shaft. Just bend it back and keep using it.
