How to see pics?
Raja,

I'm trying to get into your gallery and cannot.
I am getting a message that I don't have privileges and must log in.
I've looked at your pics before and had no prob.
What gives?
I want to see these "ball link retainers!"

What is the cost of the "care package" for the MA specific?
Didn't ask for MA specifcs. But he told me that it could cost anywhere between $35 - $50 depending on your config...

Look what I started!
A frantic search for ball link traps! Well I like that idea -- I got it from flying my giant scale planes. In any case looks like you guys are in good hands with Bob at Minair and he will be taking care of you. Pass my regards to him when you chat and yes the pictures are in my RR gallery now (too much traffic on my friend's website).

I flew again tonight a full tank. How long is that anyway. No problems it is a great flying bird.
Tonight I used the governor and flew mild areobatics(the best I can do). But it loops rolls and flies inverted nice. Thanks for all the help.

Depends on the tank size and how hard you flew
I can get 15 minutes on mine with a 1/4 tank left out of a 16oz tank.

If you fly easy you can get more. Stock tank is 10oz so with easy flight I think it won't last much more than 15 minutes or so before its out.

Mine has the big tank and I could not believe how long it would fly.
I am used to flying nitros.

You find a similar type of captured link used on R/C cars and buggies. I think the ones used by the T-MAXX may actually be close to the size we use on gassers.

Personally I would like to see the type of adjustable links found on R/C cars used on helis. Then the whole half-turn vs. full-turn thing goes out the window. One end is reverse threaded. With both ends captured, you can turn the rod with a wrench to increase or decrease the length of the linkage. No disassembly necessary.

Not bad idea. I am still sitting here thinking abot the spectra. Over 15 min flying cheap gas good performance and almost no mess.

Oh yeah!
If you're coming from the nitro world its going to seem like an eternity for a while until you get used to it! Your nitro friends at the field will start cussing you for flying too long!! Last couple of funflies I was at one of the other Minair reps was asking me to keep it down to 8 minutes since thats all he could fly with his nitro machine. A gasser is like 2 flights for 1. So when you log 4 flights in a day, its like doing 8. Now translate that to fuel savings and you will be shocked. You'll figure out that flying a gasser actually costs less, and, if you do crash those fuel savings would pay for that anyways.

I used a few of these http://www.ronlund.com/Merchant2/me...egory_Code=ZFMP

and these.. http://www.ronlund.com/Merchant2/me...egory_Code=ZFMP

with 3mm bolts and washers to " shake proof " my spectra G's a few months ago , after a link fell off, on the ground , fortunately....

Then I found the cause of the shake, a stuck piston ring ....
All is as smooth as now , but the " shake proofing " remains!!!

Bob at Minair and he will be taking care of you.
Bob in MinAir is a great guy. The he helped me on many occasions (I don't even own a MinAir Heli, only use some of the components).

When I get a chance, I am going to send him a spare ball, link and the rod so that he can confirm if they are compatible or not. To save me from sending these in, if someone here has both the Spectra and the Predator, please take a look at your links, rods and balls to see if they are the same size.

Thanks.

How do they work?

I see that the balls are just balls with hole drilled straight through. Do these replace your currently ball?

I am having a difficult time visualizing how those balls would work on my heli... (Predator)

just use a M3 bolt and washer; on a Spectra G anyway; through the ball and base .. Use spacers as necessary to stand the balls as needed .. Ricks has them in 2mm as well , for servos etc ...

Yes , they do replace the existing balls.....

Took me about 2 hours to replace all the servo , bellcrank and tail balls on both my G's....
