Yea, Model Match didn't exist back then.
In fact, thats the reason I went with a spektrum transmitter instead of using the spektrum module to convert my futaba 9c at first.

My worst one was when I was working on my 450 servo setup in my living room. Turned the radio on and the 450. I heard a beep..beep..beep.. I looked down and my radio said "low battery", and then shut off. All of a sudden, my 450 started to spool up in the living room. It got about 2 feet in the air in a matter of seconds. I just dropped the radio on top of the spinning rotors and BAM, it just blew up and fell to the floor, rotor still spinning.

I ALWAYS check my batteries in my radio now.

I went from a trex 500 to a Outrage 550 and the anti-rotation bracket on the 550 is opposite of the 500. Long story short it caused me to set up the cyclic wrong and the Outrage had a nice little crash before it ever left the ground....

My first two helis were a Blade CX2 and a Blade mcx, both bound to the CX2 radio. To properly control the mcx with the CX2 radio a few channels had to be reversed by flipping DIP switches. One day after repairing my CX2 I flew the mcx for a while, then went back to the CX2. I flipped the switches, powered up the transmitter, then plugged in the CX2 battery. I then noticed that one of the DIP switches was in the wrong position, so i flipped it. I flipped the throttle channel reverse switch and the CX2 tried it's best to bore a hole through my dining room ceiling. I mangled the inner main shaft, flybar, and upper and lower blades.

I so love my DX7's model match now!

Which transmitter switch turns off gravity?

If you don't like it skip along little dog. Why even come crap in my sand box if it's none of your concern.
OMG you guys had me laughing so hard. Come over to the nitro vrs electric thread and liven it up a little. You'd fit in great!

High Voltage just works better

I'll probably get grief for this but here goes anyway.

I put my Logo Canopy on my Trex once. I didn't even start it up or anything and nothing was working (model match ) but it took me a surprizing amount of time to figure out what was up.

And, for what it's worth, I enjoyed the earlier posts....I hadn't read them before.

Off topic a bit, but can apply to heli's also sorta.

I had an old 76 nova Hatch-Back. When I first got it, it had a straight 6 in it. I Removed it, and dropped in a 305 v-8. My first engine install (17 years old) After installing the motor, all wires cables, ect. I tried to crank it, boy did it crank up, Wide Open Full Throttle. I turned the switch off, scratched my head, and looked it over. So I tried again. Samething Instantly wide open, for some reason I stomped the gas pedal and it started to die, so I let off the peddle and wide open again. Everytime I'd hit the gas it would stall out. I'm getting pissed about now, walked around scratching my head for a while till I figured out I had hooked the gas cable to the bottom end of the carburetor arm. Plus I had the spring on wrong. Pulling it wide open.

I went to test fly a new predator max 90. It was hovering smooth as silk then all of a sudden all hell broke loose!!
not too much damage but had to replace the blades, spindle, sevo gears and tailboom.

Upon inspection I forgot to put the screws on the servos and one of the arms came off the servo...
