Flew the Atom stretched for the first time yesterday - Wow. It really does feel and fly like a poor mans 6hv.

Seems my son likes Compass as well

Thanks Kim all sorted printed off all three. I will give next weekend a miss but will get my flying sorted for next time
No problems Darryl - we are planning competitions in May (in the Auckland region) and in August (in South Waikato region). Will let you all know more as time gets closer. Give it a try, the guys that went to the Nats found it a little more tricky than it seemed and a hell of a lot more fun participating than watching.

Post up some pictures of the rc gear that was taken. I will keep an eye out on TradeMe and tell the guys at work to keep an eye out for anyone that might come in asking for help with a similar car since we are local-ish. Hopefully you find it again.

Hello All

There is a document on http://www.modelflyingnz.org/helicopter under the 'links' section for this weekends event. It covers off the scoring changes to the freestyle section of the 3D comp for this day only. Check it out if you are going to attend.

Cheers

Wayne - Goblin report?
Wayne,

What do you think of the Goblin? How does it fly etc?

I see you were game enough to knock over a few things with it

Cheers,

Steve

Hi Steve

I love the look of the Goblin and it flies well, but at this early stage it seems the geometry is not ideally suited to the cgy750 like the kasama was. That was plug and play but on the goblin it seems to pitch its nose up during right hand rolls, tail is extremely positive and locked in. Aileron ticktocks are very positive unlike the elevator ones, during loops it pulls the nose in hard at the top but i think this is part on the set up im trying to resolve as the elevator gyro gain is 12% less than the aileron gyro gain, just to stop it hunting but now it feels sluggish. The build was quick and easy no hassles only thing i find funny is the manuel was great until bag 13 then its like the writer got bored and the rest is a bit of a muddle and your left with bag 14,15,16 to work out for yourself. My motor arrived this week a new X-era so have put the scorpion back into the kasama and hope to try this new motor before Hamilton this weekend. This heli is damn quiet in the air. Once i get the setting dialled in on the 750 im sure im going to have a lot of fun with it.

I was game enough to try the sheep herding but not the Auto contest just yet just as well as the auto unit had locked up. I used the Rave for autos instead and tried slope soring with it, they were pretty slow coming down, heaps of fun. Might have found a new comp. Climb and glide duration.

Are you coming to Hamilton
