I have now lost faith in the Total G, Elev servo went nuts and crashed
Before you blame the TG you need to check everything else, so many times I get pilots pointing the finger at something and saying that’s F@ked then after a bit of testing we find something else is the problem. You need to check the radio and receiver as well as servos.

Jared was about to replace servos on a customer’s heli last month, he was convinced they were rooted and showed be them playing up on a servo tester, so I suggested he try a different servo tester and check everything before he got carried away and what do you know it was a faulty servo tester.

You need to test things fully, and prove the fault, sometimes this can be hard if the thing you are testing has an intermittent fault, if it is dead is is quick and easy to prove but if the dam thing works half the time it can be a right headache to track it down.

You can use a complete DSMX receiver and satellites but only the newer TGs can use the DSMX satellites. I'm not even sure if they have shipped any that are compatible with DSMX yet but the last one Brian sent to us had been set up to use the DSMX

Get a Futaba 8FG for Christmas

..This TG has showen quirks since the beginning, My orig is fine. It is def a prob with that 1 unit. I have just been lucky that it has never failed in flight before..

My servos, rx are fine, as i said, this is a prob specific to this 1 unit....
It has always had elev 'freakouts' and im not alone.

Even Brian from CYB knows there is a prob with some units.
I have an email from him refering to a similar prob.

I dont mind sending it to CYB for a look over. I like the TG characteristics and do believe that it can be worth the outlay.

I just want 2 good units instead of 1.!!

I fly quite regularly and seem to have probs more often, but they are all in proportion to flight time.

Blade trackin' grief
Howdy all, I haven't posted here in a while, & now I've got my heli out of "hibernation", I was sortin' it out yesterday.
When I spooled the machine up, my friend (Sheridanm962) & I noticed the blades were out of track by about two inches.
So I tried adjustin' one of the linkages in an attempt to sort it out, but proved inconclusive.
So on to the next thing, "bent feathering spindle?" my friend says, so I pulled the rotor blades off & turned the featherin' spindle over inside the blade grips & hello it was bent, so I replaced that with a new one.

I Just spooled the heli up again today & the blades are still out of track, but dig this: When the heli spools up, the blades remain in perfect track, but the main gear wobbles around on the bottom of the main shaft, & when the heli's head-speed reaches full-power, the blads "wobble" out of track, yet the main gear stops wobblin' around.

Any ideas on how to sort out ▲this issue?

I would say you have a bent main shaft.
Take it out and see if that is your problem

Yea thanks Brian, but it looks like I'm gonna be very busy today doin' "non-heli-related things" today & if the weather is fine over the next few days (Not countin' xmas) I'll jump up to the field & see if anyone can help me out with this blade-trackin' issue.

That is if replacin' the main shaft hasn't solved anything. BTW I still haven't changed the Xtals yet either, so flyin' my heli up at the field may be a "no go" as it's still on 72.870mHz .

Blade trackin' update
So a big thank-you to Kevinator9 about pointin' out the rotor shaft. I Thank You.

So I was flyin' my heli around 1800Hrs today & it flies brilliantly, with a little adjustment to a control linkage in the rotor head & replaced the main rotor shaft, I was able to sort out the rotor-blade trackin' dilemma. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO Y'ALL & BRING ON THE SUMMER FLYIN'!!!
