Doah
Just finished telling a mate how much I am enjoying my 450pro (after some upgrades) and how well it is flying when Mr Dumb Thumbs came to visit. Full speed tail first into the deck. The rudder servo even managed to unplug, wire wrap around the swash, and cut the plug clean off the end:-) you can see the wire sticking out the side of the swash!!!

Oh well, just broke my longest no crash record, must be all of 2 months:-)

Keep the crashes flowing, I need to pay for Nick and Berts flights :-)

Nick and Bert are both confirmed for the 2012 DUHSD so everything is moving into place now. You will be able to pay for your spot shortly, first in gets the best rooms. I will have everything sorted by next week.

I doubt it, costs about $4k NZD to get them to NZ let alone feed and entertain them for a week.

you would need to do better than that raynman

Thanks guys - I want to change a Hobby King KK V2 (I was going to say copy but I believe its actually under license...) board from quad to tri. I've got access to Vista and Win7 (64 bit) and if all else fails an XP machine somewhere.

So I'll fire through a txt tomorrow Stu and we'll see how it goes

Appreciate it.

thanks

Make sure you leave your friends at home this time Nicad
LMAO Will do
Nico, just read your welcome back post...and thanks for the welcome.
..As you know I dont bag people out, but notice that some still are a bit 'off' you. but sounds like you are taking peoples advise. Good on you, makes you a bit more of a contributer to the discussions.

IMO, look foward to see every one at DUHSD, HBK2 or Kasama...all helis to me....(are you 2.4 yet?)
Thanks Corrari, you're welcome & yea it will take time for some people to get used to a person again.

I would like to go 2.4GHz but (as we all know) $$$ can be a BIG hurdle, so far I've managed to save a little bit of money, but I've got quite a bit to go before I can get the conversion.

I was originally leanin' toward Futaba, but apparently they are priced a little high & are a little "challenging" to configure properly. ◄IDK if that is true or not, but I remember one of the guys (Either Lem, Cheye or Cleggy) down here at WMAC was havin' a bit of trouble settin' up his Futaba (8FG?) transmitter.
So far, I've found the Spektrum DX6/7 to be the "go-to" transmitter for most 450 class electric helis.

Apparently Spektrum have a partnership with JR & the eFlite range of helis, so you have the option of gettin' an eFlite heli with a Spektrum Transmitter/Receiver combo or bindin' your own Spektrum/JR Tx to the heli. ▲That's what I heard anyways.

I am also findin' it difficult to find any 72MHz crystals, I guess being so close to the frequency range that the construction guys use or because of the fact that there is so much out there for 2.4GHz radio gear.
Either that or I'm just lookin' in the wrong places HA HAA.

Align T-Rex 500ESP 3G w/FPV rig.

Hello All

Yep Ray makes a point - the Nationals are coming up - here's what is new:

- Documents for Clubman, Sportsman, and 3D have been revised - hopefully they provide some more information and are fairly clear. These should be on the site very soon. Dont worry there is nothing radical going to change. Just some details etc. There are a few of the 3D moves taken out and 1 extra added but this shouldnt affect too many people. Remember 3D doesnt have clubman, Sportsman, and Advanced anymore - the K-factors have been aligned that will sort your level out fairly easily. If there are enough entrants we will spilt the field based on the K-factor total you have selected, but thats details for later
- Judging guidelines are also coming along to make it a little easier to give consistent judging for the comps.
- So pending numbers - which I still dont have any idea of, we should have Fri 6 and Sat 7 Jan for competition, and a fun fly on the Sunday until about 2pm when all then must travel to where they are from.....
- Check out http://www.modelflyingnz.org and following the links to the on-line registration site. If you enter early, then we get a much better idea on where it is all going to go. if we get about 5 per event, then I can give a definite green light and its all on.

Any queries, please contact me via here, PM, or at home.

cheers for now

EDIT: just added an extra 'l' in that web link
