Airshow this weekend
Gents,

A few of us (from the Jet scene) are heading to Wings over Wairarapa on Friday and will be putting on a demo as part of the show.

Hope the Tui girls are there again

Might see some of you there?

Cheers,

Steve

"Showers/drizzle at first but becoming drier during the day, 50% chance of precipitation. Winds 22.5 kph from SSE. Humidity 77% Sunrise: 6:26 AM"

f&#$ing typical for the day I want to do my maiden, here's hoping for a dry afternoon to at least get some flights in.

Hey has anyone got any contacts in TV? perhaps Prime or TV3

I want to see if we can get them to run a two min story on the news about the Smack Down. We have had them at the NZMAA Nats before so they might do it, has to be better than the normal doom gloom stories or cute animal rubbish.

If you do let me know ASAP, still got a few things to finalise for the smack down but pretty much under control now I hope.

*A SEVERE WEATHER WARNING HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR THE AUCKLAND REGION. METSERVICE PREDICTS 150 TO 200MM OF RAIN FROM MIDNIGHT SATURDAY TO MIDNIGHT SUNDAY. METSERVICE WARNS THAT RIVERS FLOWING INTO THE FIRTH OF THAMES MAY BE RESTRICTED DURING HIGH TIDES. WEATHERWATCH.CO.NZ SAYS RAINFALL FIGURES THIS HIGH COULD LEAD TO FLOODING IN LOW LYING AND FLAT AREAS.

Ok I promise not to advertise my maiden for the Gaui as it seems nature doesn't want me to fly it lol....

Hey lojik,

I went to the shore on the off chance that you may have gotten an itch to fly it.

Anyway flying was good just a little bit cloudy, but it only started spitting at 3.15pm.

So I flew my Atom and it was good flying to be had

Hi Steve,

sorry I wasn't there, the final soldering took longer than I thought, we didn't get done till 3pm so decided to not go as it was starting to rain then.

But its all done now so should be up there at the earliest possible chance.

Hey Steve, yeah we just want to see if we can get a bit of exposure for the hobby on TV, so if they could do a two min story at the end of the news or somethign it would be great.

We have around 80 pilots registered now so it is the biggest event for helis in NZ EVER!! With guys like Curtis and Nick coming it is a big deal for us they are the best in the world so if we want to get a quick clip on TV about what these machines can do then this is the best time.

I don't know that I want to be on TV but they could interview Cutris or Nick perhaps.

Let me know f you can plant the seed and get something organised for us.

I'm going to round up the local news papaers tomorrow and see if we can get them to run a story and let the public know that we want them to come out and pay some money to watch and buy a raffle ticket or two. I have around a $4000 loss to pick up yet so hopping we can claw back a bit from the public.

Just a thought the night flying might be cool for them to video, perhaps a bit during the day then a bit of the night flying, there must be a few million people in NZ that have never seen that before.

Life is like a bath, the longer you stay in it the more wrinkled you get.
