Now that could get interesting. LOL I'm a sharp shooter with a rifle. BTW how did the Shluter Cup weekend go? I ended up missing out in the end.

Once LiPos are flat they are inert and can be chucked in land fill. Sounds odd but I don't think there is any bad stuff that will kill the planet in them.

Given that lithium isn't exactly plentiful, i cant believe there is no way to recycle them.

Hell of a lot easier to drop it off at a collection point than mess around for 3 weeks making it safe to throw in the bin.

Yea, I think you're right, because even I thought waitin' for three weeks was a bit outrageous. I think I'll just drop it off at the Silverstream Landfill next to the Silverstream Railway Museum over the weekend. Heh hee if the battery is goin' to grenade itself, it can explode in a landfill. Quick question, are JST's really that bad?
I really don't like deans/t connectors cos they are such a hassle to disconnect.

I used JST connectors on my 600 for a year or so and before that for a couple of years on the Raptor with no issues at all.

Yo Southern Man-

If you are referring to a certain young person that I now have on my ignore list- I suggested exactly that same thing to him several months ago.

But you did it in the open, I did it via 2 PM's.

Oh well- thank goodness for the Ignore list!

Best- g2

Give a mate a lift????
Yo guys-

I hope someone was able to get some flying done this weekend- between work and the weather- sigh- maybe it's time to watch another dvd.....

Lookie here- I need a favour and maybe some kind-hearted traveler will be able to help.

I have a battery- maybe like a truck battery- waiting for me up in Auckland. But since I've had to cancel my run up there at the end of November- I'm looking for someone who can bring it back in this direction - at least a bit closer than Albany.

My good mate Kelvinator has grabbed the battery for me, and right now it's sitting at Simon's great model shop in Albany.

Can some kind soul give this battery a lift, please?? I'll shout you a tank of gas for your troubles- and maybe a burger at the Golden Arches!

I haven't seen the battery myself- but I suspect it's a tad too big for a couple postage stamps- so I'd really appreciate some help, please.

Thanks in advance- G2

"The Nats" in Carterton
I went to The Nats (National Aeromodelling competition) down here in Carterton last year & I was the only heli guy there. I was wondering, why doesn't anyone else in the RC Heli crowd show up to The Nats in Carterton?

& G2, ask Jason (JAGNZ) He's in Auckland (Not too sure where exactly), he might be able to point your battery in the right direction if you ask him nicely

Battery Relay
Ya know- maybe this can make an interesting new event to have at the next funfly!!

I appreciate you guys chiming in so quickly on this.

Kelvinator (Andrew V.) has the battery currently stashed at the model shop in Albany where he works. It is a tad too big for Andrew to move on his moped- approx 15-20kgs he has estimated.

He is best placed to advise if the battery can be shifted to another location for a pickup. He has been reading this thread, so hopefully he'll see what has been suggested.

I would fancy a trip to Taupo, Rotorua- or even Levin more than all the way to Auckland, if it can be arranged.
As much as I love the Big Smoke- that would definitely be a 2 day trip...

Thanks to everyone- maybe the perfect ride for the battery is still out there!! Keep 'em coming!

G2

Wont Mainfreight or the like take it?? Probably cost you less than driving to Levin (it would also be more fun

How much do you have to spend at hobby city to get free freight????

Hmmm... not certain about the freight idea- but will certainly look into it. It is a deep cycle battery- not certain if it is sealed.
I am fairly certain it will not be in a carton box at this time- but I guess that can be changed.

I'll have to drop Simon a line and see what he thinks about maybe getting PBT or such to bring it down to me.

As for exciting Levin- I haven't had the chance to enjoy the many nice things in that town yet. Is Zambesi still there? Do they have a factory shop there, I wonder?

Later- G2

Exciting? not really, what nice things are you thinking of? Maybe your thinking of another town. lol.

If by Zamdesi you mean Swazi, yip they still here and they got a shop right next door to their factory. Swazi isn't bad, if you enjoy over priced clothing.

George it will cost peanuts to get your battery to Wellington with the right freight company, I expect $10-$15 if we sent it with Toll.

If it turns up at my shop I will send it to you no problem, consider it an early Christmas Pressant.
