I doubt Kumeu has the four million dollar fee to hold the event there.

So far the chewing gum is winning but if Kumeu can come up with the four million thn they will have winning tender.

Some of the people in that club need to do a bit of work if they want to join the rest of the country and have some fun, until then they can all follow their wonderful leader, hopefully they will be serving up the coolaide soon. I really feel sorry for the good guys there that are kept in the dark about events in the outside world because of some pathetic creep with an awesome ability to hold a grudge about the smallest things for years and years.

If they want to opologise for retarded polices and join in with the rest of the country the door is always open, but I won't be holding my breath. It's not me that is missing out it is the innocent members.

Hi all,
Seeking some answer to a few question
I'm just finishing up my CompassKnight. There isn't much room for the align 2in1 so I'm thinking of leaving it out. If I choose to leave it, do I need a bec? I've never use one b4.
Also, one of my muffler has something loose in it. I can't see it but it rattle when shake, lol, sound like some metal in there. Should I be concern or should I change my spare over?
The ball linkage is quite tight, I dont have a ..... reamer or is it dreamer? Well, lol, I guesss you know what I mean. Is there any way to loosen it with using that tool? like heat gun? lol. I've tried to grease it but still tight, almost like binding.

Yeah you Aussie guys are welcome to stay, ten is the limit though, that is all we have beds for.

Siang, Ask Jason if he has a photo of his set up on his K3D, I'm sure he had a 2in1 on it.

Ball sizing tools are cheap http://www.hobbyhangar.co.nz/tools/...ool-p-2628.html

Sounds like a baffle has come off inside your muffler, best you put the other one on. You can cut it open and fix it. Depending on what brand it is you may be able to get it replaced under warranty, if it is an Align one and it has no dents then they are fairly good at replacing them, lol that is about the only thing they replace, every other thing I have to fight for.

Siang,

Here's what I did to my son's K3D. I've covered all the wires in spiral wrapping and used that + velcro to stop any chafing on the edges of the frame.

The wiring on the rh side also goes between the between the various layers of frame to keep it tidy.

Hope it helps,
Steve

Siang you could also get an extra gyro mount to give yourself a bit more real estate to attach things to.

If you knew the history of that club then you would see the humour in that comment...

You conveniently neglected the bit where he also said:
I really feel sorry for the good guys there that are kept in the dark about events in the outside world because of some pathetic creep with an awesome ability to hold a grudge about the smallest things for years and years.
The Kumeu club is ruled by a single iron fist and a bunch of 'yes-men sycophants' without an ounce of testosterone between them. THOSE are the facts, born out by YEARS of historical in-fighting and abuses of power.

Are all of the Kumeu members horrible people (I have several friends who are members there in fact)? Of course not. But the fact remains that that club as a whole is very insular and offensive to most others in the heli community who are outside of that club.

Does it make the rest of us 'elitists' just because we have a distaste for that club based on historical, unaddressed grievances? I think not....

We are all open to changing our view of that club the moment the power structure changes such that it is more inclusive and actually WANTS to be a part of the NZ heli community at large. How is THAT holding a grudge?

BTW - maybe it would help us all know where you are coming from if you filled out your profile in a bit more detail and perhaps even let us know your name - or is that all top secret stuff? You are not endearing yourself to the community to come in here and start spouting off at people that have done more for the RC heli community in NZ than most...and you are doing so behind a cloak of total secrecy.

I would never turn away anyone from an event, even the main cause of the rift is welcome to come to my events. It would be a huge step in the right direction if he would man up, leave his personal issues aside and do the best for the members.

I know of about a dozen or so members who have left that club in the last 18 months becasue of dipleasure in the attitude of comittee.

But if they are happy hovering for years on end and don't mind missing out on seeing the big names like, Jason Krause, Bobby Watts, Alan Szabo, Curtis Youngblood, Gavin Broadbent etc etc then that is fine by me. We are only interested in having fun and not remotley interested in silly games. They can keep all that rubbish out west, we don't need it bleeding into the mainstream fun flies.

Just so flying kiwi (if that is your real name) can see what I mean I will send that club an invitation to the next big event and see if the members even hear about it. We had to fight for months to get a news letter sent out about the last one and when it did it came out with some sarcastic remarks, very childish and not in the best interests of the members but it gave the writer some evil pleasure LOL what a knob jockey. He will probably die a very lonley man.

Thanks for the picture. You kept the wiring very neat. Amaze . So you cut a hole on the canopy to access, I didn't think of that.
Oh, so it's not just some screws or nuts, eh. Yes it's align but it has a dent, lol.
I'll see if I can loosen it, I may get the align ball link instead. Don't want to mess around with another tool, lol.
Thanks all for the advice .

2 cents from G2
Footey has it right about the fact there there are some great folks in the NMHC. Yes there is a sad history that doesn't need to be dragged up again- but there are some fine folks in that club.

Some would seem to suggest that these folks in that club are in the dark, only listen to what they are told by a certain person, etc. But that I think that isn't true- I bet there are many NMHC folks on RR.

It is a shame that actions by certain people have coloured so many others perceptions of that group. But a person who is much smarter than me once told me that 'in every group- regardless what collection of people it is- there are always a couple folks who some folks will find 'scratchy'. We certainly have that down at the Wgtn gang of folks- and I'm sure it's true everywhere else.

I am proud to say that I re-joined the NMHC several months ago, after being away from several years. Many of the folks I greatly respect and who have been personally supportive of me over the years belong to that club- so I wanted to re-join the only heli-only club in the country. I am greatly looking forward to attending the big event that the club is having in November.

Maybe if we stop pissing and moaning about one persons actions- maybe we can keep moving on.

Not meaning to start a flame war- just wanted to say this, thanks.

Siang - yes I cut a hole. I wanted to keep the switch away from the landing gear and fuel lines but still have access to it with the canopy on.

I bought the extra gyro mount that fits behind the mainshaft but never used it in the end - wanted to keep the gyro under the canopy too.

Go buy the tool and ream the links to the required size. It takes all of 20s to do each one and you end up with some very nice fitting linkages.

------------

I promise not to bring up the club again - even in jest. Pse accept my apologies if it has raised too many ill feelings.

See you in Hamilton next weekend, NSMAC (once you can drive all the way to the field), or 'my local'.

Happy flying

ps G2 - did you rejoin the NMHC or the NHMC?

Yes enough said, lets just leave them to it. if they want to be social and rejoin the rest of the country then I welcome them. If they want to play silly games best they hide out west and don't bring the bad baggage with them.

End of Topic......
