Maybe, I have copied Johns program and put a receiver in it.
John is thinking of coming down for a fly tomorrow so if he does I will take it out.

Still uploading my new website, hopefully it all goes well and I can come out to play tomorrow.

Ouch!! that will cut into the toy budget Glenn.

$12K for a smile like the grill of a 52 Cadillac sounds a bit steep. Buy your kid a skate board and see if he knocks his teeth out and ACC can spring for a new smile

If you bought a mill (to go with the lathe), you could make your own braces - alternatively splash out one of those staff discount $10 fares to Thailand and save a bundle.

Nutz, Currently in Hong Kong, so will go out and clip as many Chinese heads as i can. Shanghai yesterday for line check from HKG. TAF CAVOK, get there to one of the biggest blackest CB's I have seen in a long time!!! Hold for an hour, then in, and then sit on the Gnd for over 2 hrs while the locals cleared all the mess of delys etc out. Lucky we had Tankered (CatB) fuel. And it was my line check!!!!! I had a head ache from just listening to Manadarin for over 5 hrs.

But hey have gone shopping for more spare parts for my Vibe50 so happy now.

Heading home tonight in the 330 thru the ITZ. Now whats that unreliable airspeed procedure again.............

HOLY CRAP. We just got our latest power bill. $330.00! (including a Direct Debit Discount no less)

I just sent this to the Electricity Commission:

==============
Hi Team,

I live in Takapuna Auckland in a rented 2 Bedroom Unit. We just got our power bill for this month - guess how much it was? $330.00 Yes, you read that right - $330.00!

Now, we do not waste power nor do we excessively heat our unit but we don't wish to freeze either. This kind of a power bill smacks of price gouging to me.

Do we have any recourse in this case or are we simply going to continue to get screwed if we want to stay warm this winter?

It was my understanding that the Electricity Commission (which of course we pay extra for in our bill) was meant to keep an eye on prices to ensure the consumer was being protected. Based on our power bill this would seem to not be working out very well.

I would appreciate any info and advice you can provide. I do not wish to be told how to save energy - we already save where we can. We also cannot better insulate the place as we are renters. The point is that power prices in NZ are outrageous and need to be curbed. Who will stand up to these companies if you won't?

Many thanks for your time.

Kind Regards,

Jason Greenwood

Seems like you need to get the meter checked out jason .
Ours with the rebate meant that we did not have to pay our account for the last two months and we still have some credit left.
We do not waste power but we do not stint on Heating etc .
Cheers

It's all about the Greens .

They are keen to push for windpower generation which is the most expensive power generation you can have from what i understand.

The power companies then charge at that rate instead of charging at the cost output of the older power stations .

Jason you are hanging around me too much dude. I am the master blaster of bitching and I too am sick and tired of the endless increases to costs of ...well....everything. How many billions of dollars did the power companies make?? Obviously it wasn't enough....wankers.
Now we are told we will be charged $.50 for WATCHING our kids swim here in levin. Needless to say I have written a submission to the Horowhenua county council to tell them to suck on my stick.

Jason turn that oil heater off in the lounge...they are killers on the power bill!!!!

Really I would like to be allowed to get some of these politicians that waste our money as well as the large companies executives that spend millions of dollars just making decisions and smash their heads into the concrete until they are a bloody pulp. Is that too much?

sorry...had a few drinks.

Nut out

I'd love to mate but there aren't many options to keeping the place warm!!

Gas - ok, maybe an LPG heater would be slightly cheaper but they always run out of Gas at the worst time and they pump out mega moisture. Plus filling a 9KG Bottle has gone through the roof lately. Fan heaters - nope, too inefficient. Convection heaters - nope, even worse. And I aint putting a Heat Pump in a rented unit. I'm open to suggestions!

Nope, we're screwed. The point is that power is just too expensive. No Natural Gas to the door is killing us in NZ. The power companies have no viable energy competition - thus the situation we have now...

yep those oil heaters are costly to run for sure.... When we had our second baby. we had an oil heater going 24/7 in her room though winter and ended up with an over $500 power bill (old bungalow mind you) We put a 8.0kw heat pump in last year and our dearest bill was 300 something but that was going solid 24/7, but at least it was heating the whole house. Not just one room. Pain in the arse when its a rental tho.
