Hey Jason,
Going back to the stolen credit card issue that you had a day or so ago, I notice that a lot of companies now ask for the 3 digit number on the back of the C card as well. Does this make a difference in deterring crooks. I gather it wont help if the card has been stolen but I would have thought that it would help if the card has been skimmed.

Yep but even if skimmed they usually have that number too because they are often stolen from insecure sites/servers and guess what, the security code is just another 3 digits sitting in the database for pilfering.

Security codes are a total joke unless they are unique like a PIN number, which is what Verified By Visa offers and even if the issuing bank or card holder is not a member of the program, you are still covered as a merchant! That is what I am looking into now...

It is typical of some modelers, buy cheap crap and cry when it packs up. If you always use a balancer it is highly unlikley you will ever be able to get a LiPo to go crispy like that.

Poor people can not afford to buy cheap junk.....

Life is like a bath, the longer you stay in it the more wrinkled you get.

Model Heli World Mag - Give away
I have a May copy of Model Helicopter World that I was given for a present. I have finished reading it. As these things are expensive in NZ, I think we should share around a bit.

If anybody wants it, I'm happy to stick it in the post. PM me if your interested. First in first served.

This is the edition:

It's Official- 2nd Annual Rotorua Funfly and Scale Competition!!!!!
OK folks- it's all on!!

Following on from the very succesful event last year - the nice folks of the Rotorua club have invited the heli folks back for another great weekend! The overall event is following the same field layout and schedule from last year- with heaps of air space for everyone- 3d guys, the Hovering folks, and the Scale flyers. The field at Rorotua is plenty large enough for lotsa normal helis to be tearing up the sky- and the more sedate Scale machines to be doing their thing- so everyone has room to fly.

And for those folks who have yet to fly at Rotorua- their field is the finest I have flown at in NZ. There may be nicer places- but I think one important thing makes this place so special is the huge level of support that the rest of the club gives for a Heli event! Great local folks look after the club room and run the bbq grill- and I seem to recall last year that one nice chap had even brought homemade muffins to share with us! Now- that's a club!!

The Schedule for the event looks like this-

Friday, May 29th
1p- Rotorua Field opens to early arrivals, fly until dusk.
6:30p-ish Dinner at a local resturant that Wayne and Julie like- a Mongolian BBQ place, I think, sounds good, too!

Saturday, May 30
8:30a- Field Opens
9a- Scrutineering starts
9:30p- General Pilot briefing
12 noon- Lunch catered by the Rotorua Club BBQ
1p- Scale Pilots briefing
1:30p- Scale comp begins
4p- Prize giving
6:30p- Dinner at Lonestar Steak house- TBC

Sunday, May 31
8:30a- Field open
9:30a- Pilots briefing (if needed?)
12 noon Lunch catered by the Rotorua Club BBQ
1p event Closes

As usual, there will be a $10 Landing Fee for all flyers, with a second Fee of $10 for the folks taking part in the Scale Comp. Even with the generous support of our sponsors, we need to try to cover some of the costs to help make the competition possible.

The Scale Comp is open to ALL Scale machines- large and small! Fancy or plain- doesn't matter! The competition is a simple one, with Static judging, and then a series of simple flying steps to be done- 10 second Hover, Transistion to Forward flight, a circuit, and then a landing- all in a 'Scale-like manner'. We are hoping to get a big variety of machines- even bigger than last time! We all know the heli chicks love the guys with Scale helis- right???

We have plans to run several competitions during the weekend, with at least one competition to test everyones skill. The 30 Second Hover, which was very popular at the recent Wgtn Event, will be run again. Maybe this time Mr. Platt can count a little better........

We do have a small pile of prizes to be dispersed over the weekend, thanks to our generous Sponsors. And while none of us go to these events just to get a prize- I'm sure we all appreciate the support that these folks give to us all. So far- we have recieved some great support from Andreas at JustScale NZ, Grant at Leisuretime Developments, and Mike McCormick at Radio Controlled Helicopters NZ. Big thanks, guys! And hopefully more, too!

I have selected a motel for little old me to lay my head- and if you wanna stay at the same place, drop me a line. No sense in broadcasting it......

All the usual bits and bobs will be required- NZMAA registration, Wings badge, personlized peg for the peg board, plus following all the local club rules. All machines will be checked over before flying- this will just take a couple minutes- and it's always a good safety check!

Any questions- forward them to me- at heliboyg2@clear.net.nz

OK- so the place to be Queens Birthday weekend is Rotorua! A great location, great folks- and should be a great time, too! See ya'll there!

Thanks- G2

GV1 sensor Mount for Raptor 90

Hi guys

Does anybody have a sensor mount for a GV-1 governor that fits onto the engine mount of a Raptor 90 that I can buy from you??
I only a 50 size mount and thats too short.

Either that or does anyone here in NZ just sell the mount??

Thanks
