Yay my first real crash !!!
Was an awesome day at Hamilton on Sunday, some of those plank flies really do make it look appealing.

Well I officially had my first real crash today, was trying for my wings and just pushed myself to far when I wasn't ready. Was trying to do my circuit but was struggling with the nose in turn and dumb thunb'd it.

she went inverted, and i don't know how or why but I automatically pushed in negative pitch (idle up) and did a nice little tic toc 1fT off the ground but couldn't get it under control and lost it on the way up.

Lucky i hit throttle hold as soon as she hit and the damage was minimal,

Damage I've found so far.

broken boom and TT Shaft
TT inner gears stripped
Heli side Boom support case has taken damage and will need to be replaced
very slightly bent flybar should be able to bend back
plastic landing strut got bent
2x3151 gears got stripped
Main shaft and feathering shaft and most likely bent, need to confirm.

and of course blades :P

That brings me to a little business, I have a set of clean unused 600mm CY Radix blades I want to sell to someone so I can buy parts for my heli, gonna use align FG blades for now. If anyone wants the CY blades pm me an offer thanks.

Right off to bed.

Yes in the end he didnt want it! sold it back to me, I think the whole deal was to help me to buy the helis from you and then give it back to me when I had the funds! He purchased 4 other electric helis at the same time, so I xpcted he wasn't 100% keen on nitro?
Yes everything was split - But everything came back to me, including canopy!
I virtually gave the vigor away too, complete minus electrics, for under $500
He was a happy chappy hence why it sold.

Regards
Raynman,

You count with me Glenn. I also think that a luge challange may be in order, now that the gravel rash has healed up from my last visit.
As it is a long weekend is there anything else on in Rotovagas that will be booking up accomodation ??

I don't have a roster for that far out. If you are going to go do you want to take one car....Oh....I won't have all my $hit I normally have...just the 700N and the knight or maybe just even the Knight.

Looking to go but keen to share the cost....
Won't know if I am home till that roster is due.

The hanger queen (lynx) - I was just thinking last night that I need to get my arse into gear and get the tail drive fixed. Then the kids got home prom preschool. I have as much chance of getting that flying as you have of getting that knight going in the next 6 weeks.

You ain't kidding. In the next six weeks I will have been in the sim twice, Melbourne twice, Brisbane, Apia twice, Narita, Rarotonga and Lax. Put the school holidays into that and I may be able to get my Robbins 22 coaxial ready for Rotorua!!

I'm keen for a fly this weekend but its getting to the point where we cant count on the weather being any good. I'm aiming for Sat AM, fairly early. Either that or Monday AM, fairly early. Cross fingers for nice weather!

I'm going to try for Thursday (I have day off work), Fri, Sun, Mon.

Just need to put the engine back in the heli and get it set up again to fly - that should be done tomorrow afternoon

Not sure what I am doing yet, might go to Vegas at some stage.

Need to fix my plank after the motor decided to take the fire wall out of my plane after a snap roll, landed OK just needs a bit of duct tape and shell be all go lol

for !*#* sake
was working on the heli tonight as i'm not gonna much chance over the weekend.

was checking the bearing on the shaft bearing blocks and the top two the metal encased ones are munted, the top one is munted bad.

started taking off the top bearing block when i came to the last screw it looks like the previous owner may have tried to get it off and completely worn down the screw, its literally a circle in there now

any idea's guys for getting this off?

I don't really have the equipment to do anything fancy like dremel off the end and pop it out of the frame then use some pliers to twist the shaft out of the block.

any other solutions?

Might have to leave this one till i go see someone with real tools
