Nah - It's the same unit you have now with different software and different receiver connection leads - It won't make flying any easier - Just incorperating different components easier - Such as your DX6 receiver.

Buy a couple 3" servo extension wires and remove the plastic coverings from the "female" ends to expose the pins to plug into the 4-in-1 after you separate the stock receiver from the 4-in-1 - Plug the other ends into your DX6 receiver.

It's kinda frankenstein looking but only $5 compared to $45 for the clean new 3-in-1.

I haven't really looked into setting up the blade with other radios, but I can't imagine it hurts. The ability to set throttle and pitch curves would probably be a big improvement right from the start. E-Flite does a pretty good job but I for one would prefer more throttle before much pitch is applied at all. Hovering would be so much more stable that way, but setting it with the regular transmitter means giving up most of your real forward flight ability since you've dialed out so much positive pitch.

Another benefit would be no more glitches. Then you get the other radio abilities like duel rates and expo.

As for gyros, my understanding is that the 3 in one has the same gyro, all it removes is the receiver. If that is the case then what you really need is an aftermarket gyro if you want any improvement in the tail. Of course, at some point you are spending enough that you are better off just buying a different heli (the T-rex 450SA comes to mind).

T-Rex's are a lot more heli, but you do get what you pay for. It's just not reasonable to compare them. The Blade's a lightweight, low cost, rtf style heli. It's one of the best of that breed. The T-Rex is a much more serious machine with a much higher price tag and knowledge requirement to choose components and setup properly. I think that assuming good setups on each the T-rex is easier to hover and do basic flight with, but for roughly five times the cost to get in the air that isn't exactly unexpected.

If you incorporate a heading-hold gyro then you will either have to get the new 3-in-1 or use a separate ESC for the tail.

The old 4-in-1's gyro and mixing can't be turned off to allow for a heading-hold gyro to function properly.

With the 3-in-1 pcb removed from the 4-in-1, ch 3 and 4 pins are exposed and will accept JR servo connectors. Ch 3 is main motor and Ch 4 is tail.

Connect your new 3-in-1 there. Use extension cables if needed.
That what I did to install my PHA 300 3-in-1.

I have my 4in1 setup just like that on my brushless blade and it works great. I run 2 seperate esc's (BrushLess main and Brushed tail) and a gyro.... no more tail issues.... By the way, My BL blade is for sale if anyone is interested....

IF you throw enough money at a problem it will eventually go away..

Tom..... No "D" flying....
