Great Way To Get Publicity
Guy's we found the perfect way to raise money for charities and get publicity for Yourself at the same time. I can’t take credit for it I was ask to design something to drop 300 golf balls for the Blessing Hospital cancer Benefit.

First use hollow white golf balls. We can drop up to 700 at a time. The balls are numbered from 1- how ever many you have then the closest to the pin wins.

At one time they used the AirEvac Helo but legally they can’t now. We now have over 7 different groups that want to do the same thing and its simple and you get TONS of publicity.

I will post pics from the live drop Thursday night. TV coverage along with all the golfers will be there. Next we are sticking a pin and flag in the middle of the football field and doing a drop to raise money for the Cheer Leaders.

Their ad for Thursday. Her Email to Me
This will be airing on TV – WGEM and CGEM and the WB/CW, starting today and ending September 27th. It will air at least several times every day and night.

=======================

FORE! ACTUALLY, IT’S THE 12TH ANNUAL S.L.I.C.E. GOLF TOURNAMENT TO BENEFIT CANCER SERVICES AT BLESSING HOSPITAL.

DON’T MISS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE PART IN THE GOLF BALL DROP… SEPTEMBER 28TH!

RELEASED FROM THE AIRFOIL HELICAM, THE CLOSEST BALLS TO THE HOLE WILL WIN CASH PRIZES!

ALL TO BENEFIT CANCER SERVICES AT BLESSING HOSPITAL…BUY YOUR GOLF BALL TODAY!

Our Test run. Works perfect.

Something different to get more exposure.
Hope you like

John,
You stole my idea!

Looks cool. How far do the plastic balls drift in the wind? Do you have to drop at a low altitude?

Did you get my PM?

Thanks!

The wind didn't seem to bother the balls. If you just hover and drop from about a 100ft you will cover the green and the sand traps. A little higher you will be in the fairway to.

Yes I got the PM on the other. I will be glad to load you the one we built but I have way to many projects going to build another right now.

Like I said it wasn't my idea but it was a trick to design.

Is there some kind of netting around the legs of the mount to contain the golf balls?

Thanks!

Yes we made a net that fits the mount then you can put the foam over it so it looks neat.
Its like the Pro1 just taller but mounts with bumgees like it does.

The only thing that comes to mind is an old quote:

Mark,
That same quote came up in a conversation a few months ago when I was discussing this with co-workers!

LOL! aambrose

When I read the first paragraph on how he was going to drop a load of golf balls I thought "holy s#it!!". Then as I read the second paragraph where it explained that the golf balls were to be hollow I thought "oh thank god".

Now all I have to worry about is the wind blowing one of the golf balls out to sea only to get stuck in a whales blowhole!

Yeah, the weight of full regulation golfballs would add up rather quickly.

We started out with 200 real balls they wanted to drop. That's 25lb's in balls so I decided I would have to use the 1/3 scale cub. We use it for payloads of around 40lb's so it would have no problem.

We had the drop box for it already where we had dropped those real small foam footballs over crowds.

So I go and look at where we are doing this and see I have to take off over the club house climb to altitude over the highway then bank back over the parking lot doing about 40-50 mph and drop on the fair way. The turkey drop was the first thing I thought of. Heck Larry the Cable guy could think of something this stupid so I ask if we could use hollow balls and the helicopter?

They wanted to use the helicopter so it was heck yes! Made my day!

Excellent promotion guys. Definitely going to utilize that one. There are a wide range of additions to that promo easily tacked on.
Thanks for posting it John.

Sorry haven't had a chance to get pics of the unit up. It will go on the web site next week and start shipping the end of the week once we figure out the price.

We ended up carrying 378 hollow golf balls but could carry around 1000
or so. You could drop almost anything for advertisement or do like we do and do Promo's which will lead to lots of business contacts.

The real trick to designing this is in the video we were in 10mph winds which if not built correctly can lead to pushing the heli around or a disaster.

Payload is what ever the heli can lift. The GSR will go 15lbs.+.
The carriers weight is 2 1/2lbs. so you have over 10lbs of payload at least.

7meg video clip in action.

http://www.airfoilaviation.com/helicam/carrier.wmv

A look at how it can benefit you in advertising.

Brad,
I've had ideas like this for about a year but priorities kept me from creating the "carrier". Looks like it works great. Waiting for John to release more info.

Maybe if you fitted each baby duck with a parachute!
