Zane - First releases of new heli are always the base model. Then hop ups come out and a few months later a full bling version comes out. Align did the same thing. Remember Trex 450X, XL HDE, XL HDX, XL CDE, Carbon frame kit, SE.

I wonder why they didn't go with CF or Aluminum
The actual flight tests are made by the customers. The parts that often break will be upgraded along with the blings to make it look pretty. Not only will the manufacturer make the upgrade parts, but other private entrepreneurs will have the chance to market the upgrades.

I might be the odd duck here but I see nothing about this particular model that I like to be honest. The frame design imho of course is terrible....

I like the frame. It is much more compact vertivally than other helis. The battery mounting is a bit odd but I bet it is for CG purposes.

I Think the canopy looks cool, but it's definatley a bit different.

The motor and battery are high on the COG, so this heli is probably going to fly very well. I like the "holey blades" too

i heard this is going to cost less than SGP $300 dollars, the rate now is 1.55 so that means $190 +/- with electronics, motor and Esc.

mmmmmmmm yeah really terrible, a proper battery tray that allows packs of varying sizes to be used, not wedged between the frames. A proper place to mount the ESC well away from the controls. Motor mount position that gives easy access to the mounting screws for ease of alignment. Angled servo placement again for easy mounting and easy adjustment and if were really lucky components that don't fall apart first flight quack quack
