Converted my PC PSU to 12v Source ! Good use for Junk
I just finished converting my old PSU for 12VDC. Its rated for 22A too ! Good deal. Took a few hours and was very very simple. If i did it again it would take very little time.

This is an ATX supply and in the long run I have no load on the 5v line.
I tried putting a 1ohm/10watt coiled resistor thingy (i know nothing about electronics) but it got too hot, i took it off and my 12v line still outputs just under 12v so its workin great.

Just shorted the two power status/switch wires and have 12v/common running to a double bananna plug that i set up through two small drilled holes and some shrink wrap so it doesnt touch the case.

I just searched google for some guide. Basically, industry standard = yellow = 12v+ black = common. Thats all ya need : ) the unit should say 12v max on the side anyways. mines 22.
It was collecting dust for a few years because I needed more power for the pc and got replaced. sweet!
