What type of setup are you looking for? Mild to wild?

NEU does not make on that will fit the lepton.

fwiw...Hyperion 12 turn works well with the available pinions, has power to weight approximating or exceeding a 90..Verified by data logger.
The 10 turn has ridiculous power, but turns way too fast on 4s, has to be run at a less than efficient throttle %.
I'd like to revisit the 10 turn again if smaller pinions become available, for now the 12 turn works fine, pulls about 50amps max...

Hacker A30-12xl, 24t pinion, 5s EVO20 lipo and Jazz 55 gives you the power you need for all types of flying with minimal bogging. Temps are reasonable with the motor running at 145-152F, and lipo at 98-101F in 80 degree weather.

Motor and batteries are available at TPPacks.com and fxaeromodels.com.

I'm gonna go 4 cells so that I can buy two batteries on my budget.
That said, I guess the hyperion 12 turn is the way to go.
Where can I get it? and who has the good price? Thanks for all the replies.

I"m using the Hyperion 4s 3700's. Same cells as the FP 3700. I have 20 cycles on each pack (4 packs)with Lepton.

So far, so good. They stay pretty much in balance and only up to 110 deg f with Hyp 10 motor in 70 deg weather after 6 minutes moderate 3d.

I'd say $127 each is a great deal !

fwiw..

Just a thought ..The new Hyperion 4350 packs are only slightly heavier, give more run time, don't even warm up on the 12 turn, AND the Lepton balances perfectly with them...

ok, 3025 12T motor ordered.
Gyro and tail servo installed..
I'm going spektrum since I'm hopelessly stuck with it for now... rx installed..
BEC and ESC installed.
Batteries and HS85 metal gear servos are next, then it's time to "mow the lawn!"

Drdot,
Have you fit a 4350mah pack into the frame yet? Flight times?
Thanks =)

Pics.
This is the same equipment (yes, servos too) that I run on my Trex with a 2A BEC.. so I figured my 2A medusa backup BEC I had on hand will do.
9650 on the tail. The manual said to use one, so I'll go with the flow and see what happens. I can always swap it out if it wont hold good enough.

the Hyperion 4350 mah packs fit fine, room to get a velcro tie around them, with velcro fasteners on the batt and tray...

Anyone placed orderes through RC Hover? Hows service and turn around times? They have the flight power 4 cell in stock for $169. Ready heli sold the hyperion before I had a chance to buy it, but I think flightpower will be nicer anyways at a higher C rating. Think I should get that one?

I placed an order with RC Hover on Monday. Purchased the Hyperion 3700 4S battery. Received a call Monday night stating that the Hyperions were out of stock but the new Flight Power 4S battery was in and asked if I would like it instead at the Hyperion battery cost. Received the order today. Don't know if the Flight Power battery is better or not, but considering I just received one of each I will find out soon.

Sounds like the flight power has a max burst of 50 C, and the hyperion has a burst of 30C. I'm not sure if the hyperions max burst is at 50C too..

Just spent $180 ($60 ea) on Futaba S3150 Digital servos. Hopefully this was the right choice. I could have just as easily bought the 9650's..
I did have the hobby shop order some replacement gearsets for me on the S3150 digitals, so I don't think crashing replacements will be a worry.
(I'm more worried about the crash cost of the airframe! )
Batteries are the last thing I need.

As for rchover I would not just order from the web page, they do not display stock status, call them. I have had good luck dealing with them in the past but my last order placed on 8/23 was short due to a back ordered fin set which they said would ship the next week. Sent an email on 9/7, no reply. Called them on 9/11 they said it shipped late the prior week. Today still no parts, it's three day max shipping USPS so no way they shipped it last week. I have gone through this before, back orders are often forgotten about although you have been charged full price. Anyway my two cents.

Did a search. This seems to be the common thing I am hearing about RC hover.
I will stick to Modefo's and Ready heli for now.
They had a 4 cell 3300 hyperion 20C at my lhs today, but I didn't buy it for fear of low run times.
