450th 13 t pinion question
Hi folks,

Just wondering if this sounds normal, I am dumping about 1860 into TP 3's packs after a 7 minute flight mostly hovering using a 450th and a 13 t pinion. I am runing at 100% with a dip of about 97% in the middle of the throttle curve. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Blake.

I run the same pinion and a 430 BL motor and stop afer 6:30. Just a tick over 1800 mah goes into the batteries (TP 2100 ProLites) when I'm done. My Throttle curve runs 100-95-90-95-100 in idle upA helicopter is 10,000 parts spinning rapidly around an oil leak.

Yeah sounds like my experience. I'm using 11T and fly for 7 mins and put back in 1400-1500mAh. So 1860mAh sounds OK for 13T. But I don't draw huge currents as I'm still stuck in the 2D world.

Hi Longwing

If you are just learning to hover then the 13t is too high a pinion running a high headspeed for what you are doing is just burning up the amps and everything will be getting very hot
Try a 11t or even a 10t on the 11t yo will still have a headspeed of around 2400/2500
My trex flys very nice on a 9t @ around 1800/2000 rpm with the 450th motor on a 3s tp 2100 li-po ok its not so hot on the climb out but i can still do loops and rolls.

The maximum you should be taking out of your li-po's is around 16 1700 ma so time your flights and stop flying well befor the headspeed decays
The world is round you can run but you will always end up where you started from

Yeah, that's about right. I have the same setup and run 6:00 and put back about 1400 mah.

Once you use the 13t pinion, it's hard to go back to a smaller one!

Depends on the style of flying that you are doing.

That saying is true if you say once bitten by 4s its hard to go back to 3s
