With all due respect it's cool that a young child can fly like that ,
But I'd have serious concerns about saftey also his judgement at his age, I mean he don't

-----------------

As I would have expected from the Nanny State of California, yes it's not normal but it is still cool and it isn't regulated by some agency or homeland something or other, so let him do it before we lose it. Live free and fly like you stole it.

I think its cool also, But I got to agree with dialarotor. I got my son on the sim numerous times, but he just doesn't have the maturity yet to make sound decisions when it comes to safety. All he wants to do is give it full collective and move the sticks around. That's why he hasn't buddy boxed yet. Once he can prove to me that he can hold a stable 2m take-off, hover and landing. Then I will do the box with him. Oh yeah, he is will be nine this month.

I can see your concern now...
I will say this.. If a kid his age can play the piano at a master level I dont see why you guys think he is not metally ready for this. He had great judgment and he kept a safe distance out when doing flips and stuff. There are 40+ yr old that dont have the smarts to keep it out a safe distance. Plus his dad was right there giving verbal support. If the kid got to close Im sure his dad told him to take it back.

From what I've read in posts by Justin's father, the boy has extraordinary judgment for his age. He's actually very conservative in flying his heli (he's very aware of the fact that the Raptor is in fact "his" ), as he does not want to crash it. Also, his father has offered to let him fly his own T-Rex 600, to which he replied "no, it's yours, I don't want to crash it." On the sim, he goes a bit wild, because he knows that there is zero cost or consequence to his actions there, and is willing push it.

That's a rather amazing dose of awareness of possible consequences and personal responsibility. I'd be happy to have him at any field I go to.

Hey, he is special but it has happened before. Remember, Chip Hyde won the Nats and TOC plank events at age 10. What is poor Justin going to do for entertainment when he is 50? Quick, give him a golf club and Tiger will be in trouble.

It was amazing to watch this kid. He looked very calm cool and collected when flying. He would fly very safe and high enough to save it. His dad would stand behind him and ask him to do something. Then the kid would execute perfectly. Just like said ealier. It was crazy to see him fly so calm and grown up and then go play like a 4 year old or to hear him talk like a 4 year old. If he sticks with it I think he will be the next Curtis!!!

i remember when i was a kid how i could play video games endlessly all day; even hours on one quarter at the arcade. not surprising how talented kids are at moving sticks like flying a helicopter.

impressive as it seems, i bet there are could be many other kids like this if given the opportunity to practice the sim and fly. i didn't start flying until i was 26 (mostly because i couldn't afford it until then) so it was too late.

i would be more impressed if he could pick up a golf club and play like tiger did when he was younger. now that is one in a million...
