HS1152 / HS1153 Tail reduction gears
Does anyone know the difference between these? I looked up both on Align's website and they list the same parts for each kit.

Thanks...

I e-mailed Wes at Modefo's and asked this same question. He said the only difference is one has the pinion on the tail drive shaft and one has the pinion shipped loose. Don't know why they would do this but for all we care about they are the same.

The aluminum block for the tail drive gears requires the shaft be installed, then the belt pinion be installed afterwards

the HDE models or the cheappo CDE models have a split block which accepts the shaft with the pinion installed

BTW, that belt drive pinion comes apart into two or even theree pieces, and doing so whilst in the air is bad, nad, nad,,,,,,

some pre emptive locktite would be advised
