450XL-HDE parts question
I was gonna do a Modefo's parts order after my last crunch today, and have a question or two:

The part number HS-1034 link rod set looks like it has a near duplicate set as an HS-1119 except that it appears to include the ball link ends for $1.50 more and that the 1034 has 8 pieces, and the 1119 has 9 pieces, plus 18 ball ends. Are these the same links, or a mix of servo (HS1035) and swash links? I wanted to order both link sets with some spare ball ends, but rather than duplicate the order and end up short on the others, I thought I'd ask.

Also the blue high-strength gear, HS-1154, on Modefo's appears to be a single gear, and on Esprit, the same part number shows as two gears for the same price. Did Modefo just omit the fact that there are two gears in the package?

The HS-1154 is the MAIN gear only! As far as I know, there is NOcombo package from Align that has the blue main gear and the tail drive gear.

So far, the tail drive gear, either one, hasn't come up for me.

The stock white main gear PN is an HS1057, which is bagged as a pair of mains with no tail drive smaller gear or one-way bearing.

The upgrade (blue) "high strength main gear", which is an Align upgrade, is PN HS1154. Modefos and Esprit show it for the same price, but Esprit shows that there is a quantity of two, and Modefo's doesn't indicate whether it's quantity one or two.

Anybody know?

Mike,

OK, their (Esprit) photo shows a pair of blue mains, for whatever reason, for $10 or so and I thought that was a pretty good deal.

I have two of these blue main gears and I had to order two packages in order to get two gears. The blue gears are not that much stronger than the white ones, but they seem to be quite a bit rounder.

I wanted to try one of the blue ones to see if it was a little more round, and durable, but since I'm still a non-adrenilin flyer, wasn't sure I wanted to spend $11.00 on one, or go for the lumpy stock $9.00 per pair gears.

I have been working on less-expensive finesse instead of costly excitement, but had my first chicken dance today since about July, and my spares level is nearing zero now. I lost the long pitch link from the swash in the front yard, so I'm grounded right now for a 25-cent part, which is why I posted the other message earlier about parts.

Guess that means I gotta finish that sheetrock taping in the bathroom now.

Brings back memories of when I renovated the bathroom. I had to put a brace in the wall for the new pedestal sink and had to cover the hole required for the brace installation. Didn't take long, but was a real pain to make the patch match the rest of the wall. Did a good job, but wish I had hired someone to do the job (Would have saved a lot of cussin'
