Webra Glowplug control unit
Has anyone tested this?

bottom of the page.

looks quite practical, particularly as it eliminates the need for separate glowplug clip for starting.

any experience good or bad please share

There have been two or three devices like this
Given that the glow plug can draw 1 to 1.5 amps easy,
I'm not sure I would want that coming out of my model's flight cells

Protos | Logo 400 & 500 | Sceadu Evo | Freya Evo | Trex600N | Avant FX

I've been using it and it's great. Gives very easy starting and good idle. Can't see any reason why you couldn't use one. As for the flight pack you don't use it to power the glow control unit but it uses a separate cell. And current drain of it is under 5mA.

Hope this helps.

Jarno, what size is your separate battery pack that powers the glow unit?

If I remember right I did use one cell of Sub-C NiCd 1700mAh.
