Seeing that it was a Venture, I don't think it will fly any less either

Good luck on the rebuild!

i started feeling real jittery, so i figured i should get it on the ground,, it was about 75 feet away with the heli facing away from me,, as i was landing, i could feel my hands getting more and more jittery. everything looked fine, but the next thing i knew, the blade had hit the ground, bent the tail and was flyin 20 feet sideways when i hit throttle cut.

so all the electronics and motor look good.

main shaft, spindel, blades, grips, tailcase, landing skids, boom, belt, main gear, horizontal fin, pushrods to tail, boom supports: all need replaced.

so is it worth it, or do i just call it a loss and get a new heli

on the other hand,,,, i replace all that with hop ups and have good flyin venture
Yeah, I'm new. Now that thats out of the way, please help me.

Do yourself a favor... "opt out" of the Venture while you have the chance/excuse!

Buy an Evo 50 or Titan 50. There is a deal going on right now for an Evo 50 with $110 MAH G2 carbon blades and $30 MAH carbon tails for $419 (heliproz price) Even if you don't think you're in need of carbon blades yet... set them aside.(or sell them to off-set the cost of the kit) Its a heck of a deal.

I'd take this opportunity to upgrade to something like a raptor, that's what I did when my venture bit the dustJustin - Team Horizon, Team Byron

It would still be a Venture. Take the oppertunity to "hop up" to an Evo or Raptor. If you have a local club... pick based on which is more popular at your club.(because you're new and the other guys can be your tech support) If you they're about equal, I'd say EVO... but I don't want to Hijack this thread to yet another brand loyalty argument.. check the profile.. I own one of each.

Whats up with the Venture bashing... not everyone buys a raptor.
If I saw a post where a guy crashed a box of fruit loops due to pilot error or mechanical failure, the last thing I would do is say... well if you had frosted flakes you would be better off. These machines are not so much superior or inferior to each other.

Heli guys are different to begin with so lets be different, without this brand war stuff I see over and over again.

Good luck rebuilding, seems appropriate enough, or perhaps some realistic advice on the condition post crash.

Well, I don't really mean it to be strictly "Venture bashing"... I apologize if it came across that way. If someone (especially a newbie) is considering pooring good money on top of bad... I think its helpful to advise accordingly. I'm sorry if I upset you... I see you have a Venture yourself. I know that I'm not the only one who has seen many issues with the Ventures among my flying buddys that have owned them. They are heavy, frames break at the landing gear mounts very easily, the blade grips wear and cause tracking issues. This isn't slander.. its things I've watch happen while I was busy adding fuel to my EVO and flying it again and again. I've even chased a "woofing" issue with my rappy... But the Evo just requires fuel and stick bending.

359 Pete,

All true statements about the problems with the venture model.
It is probably out of production or near it. With that said, I am not upset about the bashing per se, more disappointed that the brand jokes exist, regardless of which one. I have put a lot of money into mine, as many other newbies do. I have crashed hard and the repairs taught me just as much as if I crashed something more popular.
I would just like us all to try and help and stop worrying about what it was that crashed. We all will do it, I think, many times.
