Both models show signs of being excellent sport/competition birds. Being in Portugal, I'd first make sure that the one you choose has reliable spare parts support. That may be a more important issue for you there than any subtle differences in performance.

From all I've read and seen both here on RR and in person, if all other things were equal I'd still choose the Aurora. The smoothness of the tail drivetrain is a work of art all by itself -- and then there's the head...

Wait for the Aurora, it will be the "BEST" heli on the market, you won't be sorry. The only helis that are the same quality, are the high end F3C machines, like the Hirobo Eagle III and JR Sylphide.

If IMAGE means everything for you. Go for the Aurora.
And I know IMAGE means a lot for heli Flyers.

Carbon Extreme's metal bits arent as nice as you see in pictures... lets just say that the CX metal bits are photogenic. however performance is another thing. Eagle 3 and Sylphide will have 'better quality meterials'. I have an EFX with the metal hirobo head right now, and in terms of smoothness and nice finish, the Hirobo parts wins. However No doubt the Aurora will rock, am a big fan of CX not cuz of the nice metal bits its the innovation and performance..

RSA, I was actually thinking of CX's carbon fibre, I have some of Augusto's stuff for R50 and R90, I am realy happy with the quality. The finish and quality are just as good as anything else I have seen.

I haven't seen any CX metal CNC metal parts, but I am not worried about finish, like you I think it is all about performance. Also strength and durability are important factors for me and based on my experience with CX products I don't think these factors will be a problem.

... if all other things were equal I'd still choose the Aurora
If all things were equal, you could just flip a coin? The fact that you'd choose the Aurora means they are not equal... you prefer the Aurora... as I do. Just wanted to make that distinction...

Distinction noted. I could've been clearer. If the prices were the same and both were available is what I meant by 'if all other things were equal.'op-thwop-thwop-thwop-thwop-thwop-thwop-thwop-thwop-thwop-thwop-thwop-thwop-t

I think there would be a lot of people stuck on the same question. It seams the N9 hasnt had the impact we all thought it would, maybe everyones hanging out for the Aurora, can you blame them.

Before tha announcement of Aurora I was looking the N9. Since the Aurora wa announced I am not thinking anything else. I am just waiting.

Also my 90SE has the CX carbon frames and I can tell you for sure that the quality is far above the TT ones.

I look at the designs of each part of the Aurora and see where all the mistakes are. It's incredible that they are producing this kit in the form that they are. Now, before you Aurora lovers get red faced let me explain. Like many products on the market there is always an entry level product. Then comes some upgrades. Then a new version. You see where I'm going. The Aurora looks sweet just like it is. It's like a dream come true. It looks to me that they took the best features from a few different machines and improved them then created the Aurora. I like what I see. It's definately an evolution in the right direction. Since I fly Hirobo and MA looking at the Aurora makes me feel right at home. I haven't really wanted to buy any new machines for quite some time but this one is calling out to me.

You do mistake

1 Euro = +/- 1.27 US$

That's mean

1200€ = +/- 1524US$
985US$ = +/- 775€ + taxes(21%) = 938€

about 250€ (320US$) of difference....

I think that you should look at the quality of the kit and not the price. The cheepest thing isn't always the best. You wouldn't buy a car just because it's cheep would you.

Now let me stop the argument before it starts, I'm NOT saying the Synergy is a bad kit. In fact I have no idea how one compares to the other. You should do your homework and find the quirks of each kit and base your decision off that.

Also you might want to keep in mind that there might be some people out there trying to bash one kit or another "m3dnt cough cough".
It wasn't me, it was my thumbs!
