Look for a good used Trex SE. you should be able to find a good price on one. Check the RR classifieds.

Yup,Casey's correct!!! That's what I did got a real
good deal on a nice used SE It was poorly set up by
the origional owner and more often than not this will
make someone think they can't fly it and sell it off
cheap as we all know it can get frustrating without help
sometimes, at least for me

care to review the falcon a bit ? and do you have prior experience with a heli?

Your first setback with the falcon will be the radio.
But it should be good to learn on. Use it up good before you start flying the SE. The falcon looks like a knockoff from a shogun..

There will be a world of a difference between the falcon and the trex SE.

Don't ask me, appearantly my 9Z is outdated already

WoW thanks for all the replys, dont get any replys ont the falcon,,,cus no one owns them, lol.I do think the falcon will be a good flying bird once i change out all the eletronics.but thats kind of the point of buying a rtf copter.

OOPSIDIDITAGAIN,,heres a post that i started over in rc groups when i was first talking about getting the falcon, theres actually a few people that are having problems,i saw the other complaints after i had ordered mine of course, but thats the way it goes with a new copter, just sucks shelling out 300 bucks and not being able to fly.Im not a 3D piolot but i got a corona years ago and then a lama (not really a copter but fun) and i basically learned on a blade cp.the end of my post has my reveiew.to be honest im actully being nice in the reivew, lol.

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=556854

well looks like im going to have to buy a flashy new car when i get my trex as well, ive been checking out the new pontiac covertiable i think its called sky,,actually thats the saturn, anyways ther both cool
thanks agian for everyones replys much appreciated

That is a very subjective question.

From 30,000 ft, I believe for a beginner, the HDE is easier. The actual moving mechanics are bit more complex than the CDE but you don't need to worry much about swash programming.

The feel is completely different between the two. A properly setup CDE will feel much more natural than an HDE but as a newbie (doesn't necessarily sound like you are one) you'll be so far out of the envelope that those types of control changes probably won't even be noticable.

I'm in to it (with an HDE) for a bit over a year now and I'm just now starting to note the differences in feel. People progress at different speeds, so if you're a fast learner (there's no way to guage this until you actually try) than CDE might be the best way to go initially.

Otherwise stick with HDE, somewhere between the time you start and the time you're ready you'll snap your frame and go CDE. Incidentally, I recently snaped my plastic frame, and even knowing the benefits of CDE, I went the HDE CF route.

Personally, I'd steer clear of the MX. Great Planes already gets plenty of our money.

Hope this helps,
Shell

I can agree to everything said above. The HDE is a great heli to learn curves, endpoint adjustments and the likes before jumping right to a CDE. You will have to learn to be very limiting in your setup on the CDE, which can drive a beginner nuts wondering why he can't set it up right. I would think the HDE carbon version is built very well, but havn't seen one myself.

I'm very happy with my HDE CF build after a bit of tweaking. The real cure was to use a couple HS-56s I had laying around.

Last I checked, the best price for it is from ReadyHeli.
