Help with fixing fuel tank nipples
Ok, anyone who has owned a raptor is probably familiar with the poor design of the fuel tank with the front nipples that eventually begin to leak... I was wondering what the best way to fix this problem is? I had a tank yesterday to give me fits.. ended up buying another tank and the old tank was only 5 months old.....

If at first you don't succeed... Spend MORE money and TRY again!!!

Knock the sharp edges off the frame set with some sandpaper, my tank is over 2 years old.

You can fix it with a milk jug and a soldering iron, if its not bad just a soldering iron.

On the new tank, heat the nips up with a hot air gun just to the point that the material begins to turn clear, the plastc will begin to shrink back so the nip becomes shorter and much thicker. The nip ends up as thick as the rest of the tank.

Takes about a minute for each nip. If you want you can make it shrink all the way flat with the side of the tank. Works great. Did that to a 60 tank before i crammed it into my 50, no nips at all.

when I was assembling my R50 for the first time I smeared silicone on the clean frames and on the tank in those areas. I let the silicone get a little tacky and then installed the tank. The tank has been in there for over a year with no problems, and if you are careful when you have to spread the frames or remove the tank, you don't have to use the silicone again.
