Coke can mod
What is that? I have done a few searches and can only guess that it is something to do with the carb on an OS, but I can't find anywhere where it actually tells what it is or how it is performed. Who has some info on this for me?? Hopefully pics.

that is what I was looking for, thanks!!

Why didn't my search for "coke can mod" return that one?

Maybe it did, but I was to drunk to notice

Thanks Mudbogger

p.s. it still doesn't make that much sense to me because it looks like he shimmed the upper bearing so that the crankcase was slightly closer to the backplate. Correct me if I am misunderstanding that part. But what I do't understand is how that would affect front/back or side to side crankshaft play, which is what I thought he siad may have caused the problem of the bearing race being pitted on one side.

Shim goes between the rear bearing and the crankcase. When you tighten down the fan it preloads the rear bearing by pulling the crank up against the rear bearing and then the case.
