Throttle probs.?
After many trouble free flights,i finally have one.
After about 5 mins. the HS starts to sag about 200rpm.It can be corrected with increase thr.curves but after a few mins.starts increasing beyond its original speed.I put it back to original and after the same time starts to sag again.
Pred.231 with Fut.3010 on throttle.Faulty servo??
Doing a bench static,no motor, test the servo appears ok..
Any ideas?? thanks...

It can be time to turn in the needle just a bit.

When it sag down, is it four-stroaking as well?

Does the tail start to kick?

I will turn the high speed in a bit as you suggest.
It only seems to do it when i drop back into a hover.
It just seems to lose power on fade, tail doesnt kick.
Thanks for the interest and help.
Going flying later so will report back.

I wouldn’t!

If anything this sounds like a lean condition or a mismatch one lean and the other rich. Let’s see the plug before you do anything. If you are on the edge of lean and you lean it more your engine is toast. If you are rich and you make it richer it will just run like crap or exaggerate the problem. Let’s see the plug.

Turn out not in
Instead of turn in high needle, turn out the low needle just a bit (1/16th) turn and try again. Cooler weather demands richer settings not leaner as the air is denser and you need more fuel to get the same "mixture".

Air leak?
Could be that. The plug looks okay to me apart from being a Champion that is

It is highly unlikely that the throttle servo would have this effect.

Make sure you do not have any crank, crankcase or intake leaks and also check your fuel delivery is unrestricted (filter(s)) lines and carbi screen.

Do what Raja suggested - richen the low a bit and see what happens.

Paul.

Well just got back from flying,i turned the low needle about 1/8 out before i went.did about 20 mins.flying and kept dropping to a hover and the odd idling speed too,and it seemed ok.there also seemed a bit more power on pitch punches, less bogging.
Had a break, filled up again, motor still warm and it started to die again, this time with a bit of tail kicking as i increased the thr. to hover speed.I opened the low a bit more and it seemed ok.flew another 15-18 mins again dropping to hovers,it behaved ok.
It has been very warm again here in the uk today, quite humid too.
Running it slightly rich will do no harm???
i'll be going again after tea,it will cool down alot at dusk.I'll see how it behaves......
Thanks for the continued help and interest..

Let it run 15 minutes at just idle. Take a look at the plug to see if it is fouling up. The problem with going too rich on the low is if it is making up for the high still being lean. If they are both rich the plug will foul and the cylinder will carbon up.

Went tonite for a quick fly.Started it,after no adjustments from this afto' and hs seemed a bit low,it wasnt dying though.Leaned the low needle in about 1/10 turn, started it and the hs was back to my usual speed.flew a tank before i couldnt see it in the dark and it behaved great.Power was good.
Would such small adjustments make such a big differance?
I must be very near optimum turns?
will idle it for 15 mins.tomorrow and have a look at the plug.
thanks.....

Primer Bulb?
Check see if the primer bulb is going empty. I just had this on my Predator gasser, I couldn't find the problem
ended up fixing it with a new carb, mine had only about 1 gallon through it

Be aware that NGK plugs have a lower resistance than Champions so make sure you have good engine on range before flying.
