Raptor 60/90 carbon upgrades
I have a Raptor with an OS70 that would like to reduce the weight on. I see that there are several carbon frame sets available at a very wide price difference – anyone have a good recommendation.

What about a carbon boom and drive shaft – does this really same a lot of weight?

Are there and good lightweight landing gear available?

Thanks

It has a QUK head and weighs about 11 lb. It flies ok and is a great 3D helicopter, I was just looking to loose some weight.

Does anyone have an estimate of how much weight can be saved my adding carbon parts?

I see that QUK has some nice carbon upgrades (frame and landing gear) – has anyone tried them?

I run their frames, but I can't tell you how much lighter they are. You could always put a 90 in it. It's not to much work, the YS .91 will drop right in with only a pinion change.

If you can't easily reduce weight to improve the power to weight ratio, then increasing the power will definitely improve the ratio.

11lbs is not bad for a 90. Mine is closer to 12. With the ys 91 motor the power difference will more than makeup for any weight you may take off, at a lesser cost. Change the bullet. Yes there you go

I am thinking of getting the Carbon Xtreme set. They have a package deal that includes a frame, bottom plate, fin set and some other parts for only $160.

I had an OS91 (non-hyper) on this to start with and the fuel cost was too high so I put in an OS70. Actually the OS70 has very good 3D performance I am just looking to do some upgrades this winter. It has a lot of flights so I will clean up everything and may replace the bearings. Any idea how many flights bearings helicopter bearings are good for – or should I just lube them?

Ben-T-Spindle, check with Rick's. They had all of the carbon extreme stuff on clearance. The combo set is like $90 right now. Last I knew they had it in black.
