Cutaway!!!
I'm not starting a war here!!! But here it goes:

I sold my last 2 Sceadus and have gone totally raptor.
The reason is simple: Kasama Head. After speaking to a local guy about them and seeing them in action I believe the Raptor 50 w/ the Kasama head is almost unbeatable. Yes, it's an upgrade and yes it costs a little extra...... but the raptor flies better with them than just about anything else in their class. My Sceadus were awesome but I'm just more comfortable with the raptor format, durability and cost of parts - especially with this add on. I still think Hirobo has the best customer service on the planet but raptor has won this battle with me.

Just curious, why wouldn't you have done this in the past with a Quick UK head or the "upgraded" metal head from the 50 SE?

What makes the Kasama head so special and unique for you to take such drastic steps??

DOn't get me wrong, I'm kinda playing devil's advocate because I think the EVOs break easy if you just look at them funny, and my Raptor 50 has flown great with no issues. I've had several issues with the EVO 30 including the front, flimsy servo frame breaking from a hard landing! I've also had it chew up about 1/4 of the teeth on the main gear!

The Kasama is less expensive, more durable and flies better. As for the Sceadu - I've had issues with each of them that were a major pain but their customer service always came through with flying colors. Stock vs Stock the sceadu flies better, but the main gears fail so you have to upgrade $100.00 for the delrin, plus their kits come with no mufflers another $50-100.00. The stock kits are close to the same price and with the upgrades (muffler / gears) for the Sceadu Kasama head) for the the Raptor costs are again close to equal. Essentially, for the same price you get a more durable helicopter with a world class metal head. Again, my intent was not to start an us vs. them thread but to state my intentions and possibly open up a discussion on the reasons. To me the raptor builds like it was made for military use while the sceadu has a more refined but fragile build. It like the raptor durability and simplicity. The best way to make a small fortune in RC Helis is to start out with a large one. Debt from above!
