How do I identify a bad servo?
I suspect my 9256 servo to beginning to go bad, had some strange flying today where the tail didnt stop until a extra half piro.
and I also had less prio rate during counter clockwise turns.

Is there a way to test if its the servo or do I need to order a replacement to be able to test and compare?

Might look at the sensor tape and make sure there's nothing loose in your control rod setup before you blame the servo, though its always possible.Andy

Yeah, Im planning on checking all the cables, tapes.
Mechanical setup have been tested and checked, and that held up to the test (also checked belt/drive system)

Just never had a tail servo gone bad before, dont know if there is something easy that you can test it with, I guess I gonna check the max throw's in both directions, other then that, I dont know.

Try holding it with your hand and see if it gives your finger a good push, not too much resistence but enough to make the servo do a little work.

Excessive gain can burn up tail servos too.

Servo seems fine.

Im running 36% gain, so that shouldnt be an issue, only have 4 flights on the servo.

However, There is a possibility that the gyro sensor lead got caught under the canopy, Ive removed the canopy since, but that could surely be the cause.
