Logo 14 Tail headache
My L14 continue to give me headache, I really like how it flies, however, today something happened.

First battery, flying great.
Second battery, I lost prio rate, I could still turn but it was noticable slower in counter-clockwise piros.

Then just before I landed, I turned the tail a bit, and it didnt stop, it went on for half a piro (in the same slow speed as I did when I commanded, in other words, not total tail loss)

Ive checked belt & belt gear, its not slipping, gear is perfect mesh.

So, what do you think?

Bad servo (9256)? - How can I test it?
Bad gyro tape? - Gonna change it.
ESD? - I have already grounded the boom.
Bad cable? - Gonna check all cables.

Any other ideas?

Hi,

Perhaps worn tail grip bearings locking up under load?

Tail grips are smooth as silk under load, however the tail pitch slider gives some small resistance when pulling and twisting one tailblade, however, I guess that is normal because I pull and twist only one blade.

Check to make sure the slider moves freely on the tailrotor shaft. I had to lightly sand mine with 400 grit paper. Not alot but more than a few passes.

By it self (or moving it with 2 blades) it goes freely, I actually used some tri-flow before the flight.

Also, the first flight it worked perfectly, it was not until the second flight which this happened.

I didnt touch the tail on landing or start, I suspect cable/bad servo/vibrations.

Gonna see if I can see any damage made.

There is a possibility that the gyro sensor lead got caught under the canopy, Ive removed the canopy since, but that could surely be the cause, gonna make sure it dont happen again and have a look at the next flight how the tail acts.

It has to be a wiring thing or a faulty gyro or servo, this is not a common thing, infact never heard of it on a 14. Keep us posted. ...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

Had exactly the same problem with a 9254. Borrowed a mates 9254 problem solved.

When i was taking the servo off i noticed the ball was screwed into the third hole from center on servo horn, and mine is the fourth hole.(same servo arms) So this is something i am going to try before buying new 9254.
