DTDS upgrade on 50. Do i need anything else?
Just bought the 0412-168 kit.

Do I need anything else to upgrade from the black gears on the standard Sceadu?

Don't think so. Looks like you have the delrin tail counter gear already? The delrin gears work great.Vibe 90, Vibe 50, Vigor CS x2,
Dyna-x, Knight 503D, Logo 10,
TRex 500, Furion, Gaui EP200

nope... you're good.

You should have a shim between the bottom of the one-way housing & lower retainer deal (on the stock setup).

That shim will fit in basically the same place except replace the lower retainer deal with the shiney blue part.

Sweet!

Thanks guys!

I have recently started doing autos and I feel like I really need to have tail control.

Is there a big difference in the energy held in the blades with the DTDS gears?

There will be a difference, but I can't quantify it as I have never auto'd any of my own Sceadu's without a driven tail.

I imagine it would be like what the difference is from one main blade to another... say SAB 600's to Hirobo 600's.

If you're comfortable doing auto's... I think you'll acclimate quickly.

If you're talking about an Evo 30 with 550mm blades, then yes it's going to make a noticeable difference. It's not that easy to auto the Evo30 even with the stock setup, and you have less reserve with the DTDS (about 10% loss to the tail).

Of course, if you do learn to auto with this setup you'll LOVE autos once you move to a larger machine.

My Sceadu is currently 50 and with a non driven tail. Autos seem very easy and the blades have a lot of energy in them.

When I tried to auto my 30, it fell like a rock but still managed to land it in one piece.

And then I become brave and tried to auto the t-rex.... lol, The gorilla gear saved the heli, thats all I have to say
