A Raptor 90 spinning at 1950 rpm is pretty intimidating. If you don't believe me,just come up to the field on friday, and stand next to me when I fly mine. What happened to you last week?I thought my offer for you to fly my 30 was pretty generous, seeing that I don't even know you.

A 50 will do almost anything a 90 can do, for a lot less fuel, and a lot less when you plant it, which we all do.
I have a Fury Extreme that sits a whole lot, only because of the fear of crashing it. I know a guy who will hover his 30 all day long inverted on the deck, he is a great pilot, but he gets on his 90 and his knees knock.
Wow, the ground was closer than I thought.

I know your pain
Funky flyer and everyone else has given you good info. Most everyone that flies at my field does own a 90, but they fly the 50. One guy flies for TT and he usually practices with his 50. It's cheaper and you can do everything you can with the 90. He just flies well, no matter what he flies, and that takes fuel. The titan is a lot more $$$ for not much more. Save the extra cash and get the hatori pipe. My stock V2 came with TT carbon blades. I don't think the other versions do. I just got the V2 and upgraded as I got better. The servo on the titan tail just gets covered with fuel. The stock bird works fine. Upgrades you might consider later: green paddles (quicker cyclic), metal head (handles the higher head speeds), red dampeners(stiffens the head), and hatori pipe (better overall power and smoother power distribution). Is that enough to spin your head and lighten your pocket book? good luck

Oh, don't get me started on that. In my opinion, the tail boom is the worst place for the tail servo. No matter what you do, the oil finds its way in. You Raptor guys are lucky, you can move it under the canopy.
Wow, the ground was closer than I thought.

If you were an absolute newbie a 30 wouldn't be a bad choice especially a good cheap used one.I started on a 30 and still use it to practice stuff on for 15 minutes a tank!! But your not a newbie and I would get a R50 V2 kit if they still make it. Like what was said before mine also came with woodies and TT carbons at a real good price.
Plastic head like the Titan so get a Hyper with a good Gov to keep her between 1800 to 1900 headspeed and get 10 minute flights with still alot of power. I think at the lower headspeeds because of the plastic head the TT muffler that also came with the V2 kit is fine for the hyper. If going for all out power, upgrade the head and muffler later for better flow.
Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them
