your $$$$
any variant, kasama head, washout, and fan (Quick UK as a substitute)

GOOD digital servo's, elevator push-pull

Hyper 50, tj pro or revmax or whatever (gv-1's are bulky, so avoid on this one)

600-620 blades (depending on tail boom length)

spares and FUEL.

That said, I personally think my Raven 50 is much more precise out of the box without all the upgrades.

The 50 is the best all around choice. However the 30 is quite capable of mild to medium 3D if you are on a tight budget.

I own both all sizes of Raptors and find that I really don’t fly the 90 that much – very messy and really sucks down that expensive fuel quickly. The 50 is much more fun and gets a lot more flight time. I would much rather have two 50’s than one 90.

Get a Titan 50.

I'd recommend getting a Titian 50 also...most bang for your buck.

I agree with most of the guys, get a 50. I could even have fun with a 30 and learn from it also. The 90 is great for being impressive but you can learn more on a 30 or 50 imho. Shortcuts just cost more time and money.

My current favorite is a 30 with a toki 40 engine. wood blades, cheap servos, cheap reciever and an old JR 652 TX i picked up for 50$ at a swapmeet. Performance sucks compared to a 50 in just about every imaginable way, but oddly its the first one out of the trunk and often the only one that gets flown. Im installing a bigger battery in it because 6 flights per morning is not enough.

Performance wise the 50 is the best deal, but for some folks less is more.. has as much to do with what you are most comfortable with than anything else IMO.

enjoy!

R50 or a R60-70.
The bang for the buck without breaking the bank is either the 50 with the Hyper 50 and mp2 or JAson Krause Hatori for the Hyper. Great power and not too intimidating and if you have a smaller field to fly around in. If you want a little more power still cheap enough then get a R60 and put either an OS 70 with the 70 sized Hatori for it or a YS61st2 with the sb15 Hatori. Put the Raptor 90 fuel tank in it and have longer run time per flight. Good power and teaches good collective cyclic control in 3d. Too many go right to 90 and can bang the sticks and still have power to fix messed up 3d but regrett it when it comes time to pay the fuel bill or crashes!! Lots of good stuff out there and cheap from those who go to 90's and sell theirs. You can convert it to a R90 later for next to nothing. Clutch, Clutch bell, boom, ttube and supports, 11 tooth pinion and white 91 tooth main gear, and maybe metal headblock.

50-90, 30-60
First decide what you can afford. Put in a 60-90 and your looking at $100+ for blades alone. Every crash could cost $200 and they suck down $30 bottles of 30% nitro fast. Now think of how you want to fly. The 50-90's are the power houses and the 30-60's are the same ships with less power. You can do the same with all of them but it takes more effort or skill with the less powerful one.

If you were buying a sports car would you buy the base model or the one with the bigger engine that eats more gas becuase you want to burn up the roads.

Now with that in mind think about this. Because of the repair and up keep of the 90 ship many people sell the 90 to get a 50 with hyper. And while the 90 has balls I had a Bergen 60 with OS61 WC in it that was so freaking strong guys with 90's thought it was a 90 with an engine that was stronger than the one they were running. They would say what engine is that and when I said a 61 and their jaws would drop and they would say "A 60! It must be geared different for that type of power".

Point being the 90 is nice but there are 50's and 60's that will give them a run for the money and are less strain on the wallet and credit cards.

your money ,,,you pick ...agree with the others... on the 50... i personally fly my 90 all the time....
i pay 80.00 for a case of 30% cp fuel...20.00 per gallon... that isn;t bad..
I love the power...the stability(esp in the South Dakota Wind) but crashes do suck...i have had a 260.00 crash and a 170 .00 due to that stupid pin in the tail pulley coming out and a 9256 konking out on me... but i have friends that can spend that much on a day of golfing.. so...its all relative
oh well...the 50 can cost alot to crash too... a friend of mine just put his in and it totaled it..
they are all expensive but hey... you can;t put a price on fun...

I would still go with a 50, because they are still cheaper than a 90. the 50 can do anything a 90 can do, but sucks less fuel . the 50 does have the power to weight." your never to low until you hit the ground ''

forget the 30 and 60

its really just a choice between the 50 and 90

and to be honist if you got a 90 you really need a 50 as well too pratice new stuff on

if got both ie 50 hyper and 90se

the 90se sucks some serous nitro and would be a shame to bang up learning new stuff on and extreamly expencive

my advice is get a 50 put a hyper enging in and enjoy if you realy want
a 90 get a 90 aswell as the 50

if you cant afourd to bye both
truth is you cant really aford the 90

I love my Raptor 50 Titan. I had a bad crash with it while I was experiencing radio glitches and I chose to buy another one instead of a Century Raven, Raptor 90, 30, 50SE, etc. I would definitely recommend the power, stability and versatility the Titan 50 offers!
