How do you guys feel about sites doing this???
A new database is available to the general public free of charge that displays your personal information (names, addresses, phone numbers, birth dates). (Soc. Sec. is available for a price.) The database is found at http://www.zabasearch.com/ type in your name and check!
Not a joke!!

What if the information is wrong?
I found my name and address with incorrect birthdate and other information, almost like 2 people got mixed.

I'll probably just leave it screwed up, this way I might know if someone is trying to use it, cause the details will be messed up.
Just remember -- if the world didn't suck, we would fall off.

If you want it removed, send them an e-mail at info@zabasearch.com to request it be removed. Not sure if it will do any good though..

Jumping jelly beans, that's scary. I wouldn't be supprised if we had something similar in the UK. It doesn't really come as any great supprise though now the internet has blown everything wide open.
I very much doub't sending an email to have you removed would be of much use because there will be another waiting in the wings.

Guy,

Its happening soon mate, the National Children Database (or whatever it is called)..... Data will be available only to those departments who need to know ( or so they say.... wait a few years and the info will be flogged onto some Business corporation or other.... or if TB decides to do it under a PFI !! )

Same here Guy. I dont know that it is any worse than a phone book.. Although I can choose to have my # unlisted! But no one asked me a damn thing about this or was I even told about it. Had to find out by my own means. I am sure for a little money you could find out anything about anyone you wanted anyway. Still kind of BS and rude to take your info. and do whatever they want with it though IMO.......

It has my info including several of my past addresses but looks like most of the personal info is incorrect. Has me born in 1950!!! Whoaa, I'm not that old. Has my income at half of what it is, also has my house as being built in 1984(actually built in 2001) and also has my home value at $144K, $100K less than it's worth!Fromeco Field Rep.

Well, I like it. It makes it harder for scammers to hide. if you have nothing to hide you should have nothing to worry about. this info is also in the phone books, and those are web based now.-= I know there is Money in RC helicopters. I put it there=-

And just for the record that site isnt new, it has been around for a couple of years. Every few months spam mails will start circulating about how this is being done now. It has been done for a while, and like hover said, this is the same information thats in the phone book that is online or in stacks just about every where you turn."There is a fine line between cutting edge and bleeding edge.."

Uhmmm, wrong. This info IS NOT in the phone book. I pay for an unlisted phone number, besides the phone book does not list your birth date, income, home value and all kinds of other personal information. And for a small fee they can have tons of your private info.

No, in that respect you are right. But every bit of that is available if you know where to look."There is a fine line between cutting edge and bleeding edge.."
